Leaving his qualities (or lack of) aside, the main lesson to learn from Aythami is that it just doesn't work to keep guys playing at Fabril until they're 23 years old. If they're not good enough at 19 or 20, ship them out.

actually Aythami had 100 matches with Las Palmas' first team for his 21st birthday. ;) though mostly in segunda B.

One of the best moves in this summer or in all our history and it's a release :D

Correcto! But it's still a bad level and he didn't shine there. So, he should have been released far sooner. It was obvious by then he was never going to make a Primera/Segunda A player. ;)

Yeah, I think you're right. Still, just imagine that you're a striker in Aythami's team, you score the opening goal, and then you see Aythami screwing up twice and boom, you're losing 2-1. It'd drive me crazy :D

I'm reading that his departure was the result of an outburst on the training field two days ago. Apparently he had a serious argument with Fernando Vazquez, and he completely flew off the handle. FV even sent him back to the locker room during the training. After seeing Aythami's reaction when he got subbed in his terrible game against Zaragoza, I'm not surprised by this. Onda Cero even said the new players at the team were blown by his terrible behavior this week.

Good riddance, I say.

Well, we can always remember his cute goal against Valencia, one of his scarce bright moments with us.

No longer shall his woeful defending haunt our souls......but what about poor Las Palmas being left with 2 of them.:D
