![]() I suppose he'd be a decent short-term signing but a change of tactics is required if any of our front men are to have any sort of effect.

![]() Mpenza had to leave his team in Germany because they bought a new striker and he was too expensive. At first it seemed he would return to Belgium (Standard, Genk or Anderlecht), but in the end they all bought someone else. It seemed he would stay in Germany, but then Al-Rayyan made a very nice offer. He lost his form though in the weak league of Qatar. He says he'll only leave for a "big" club. Like a Spanish club. Perhaps he'll regain his form in the strong Spanish league. It's still risky, but who knows.
By the way, you shouldn't forget that Mpenza was the best striker of our national team (when we still meant something) about five years ago. He's not as good as then, but the league of Qatar is about the same level as the Belgian second division. He's not thát old, and sometimes he still shows some very nice things. And I really am a 100% sure he's a better finisher than Bodipo or Taborda, even now in his bad form. You can say he was weak against Poland, but Deportivo is suffering the same as our national team. Mpenza was standing upfront and he got some impossible to reach passes from our defenders, our midfield didn't do anything. Mpenza is a striker that does a lot if he gets space, but he isn't the kind of striker that'll bust open a defense. Depor uses the counter a lot, so he just might do good... Chance is big he fails too, of course. But I have more thrust in him than in that Antoneli guy. And there still is a big chance he won't go to La Coruña. We'll just have to wait till the end of the week...

![]() The latest: Emile wants to go to Spain. So the contenders are Depor, Levante, Espanyol and since today also CELTA. What a surprise

![]() He was pretty good when he was at Schalke, but his stint at Hamburger SV has been awful, and that's the most positive you could say about it. Big ego, big salary, big health problems - I'd rather not invest the few money we have in him.

![]() Well, this player, Mpenza is in my eyes a good player. Well, he's definitely not bad. If we get him, it'll be fine with me, and if we don't it'll still be ok with me.

Yes, but that would greatly increase the attention Celta gets in Belgium. That would piss me off.

![]() I think Mpenza did ok in Germany... Considering what we got I think it would be a good signing. Better than not signing anyone.
