Probably not, it seems it will be decided later this week... This will probably be a huge relief for most of the people here, but it seems highly unlikely that Mpenza would go to Spain. Latest reports say he's very near to sign for Blackburn.

If the deal with Blackburn won't happen, the chance of him going to Spain isn't impossible...

I'm glad that, in the end, we didn't sign him. Too much doubts surround Mpenza. If Depor do start to sign that calibre of players, we're becoming an even more troubled club....

I read something very interesting about Mpenza (who eventually stayed at Al-Rayyan, but he'll be a free player in a couple of days, so then he'll be able to go to a team for free) yesterday in the papers. I'll quote: "Deportivo was very interested in him, and the arrival of Mpenza at the Spanish club seemed a done deal, when Deportivo suddenly aborted negotiations, which were in the final fase, for unkown reasons".

I'm quite sure that the fact of LFP blocking any incoming transfers for Depor due to our debt to Alaves for Bodipo, is that "unknown reason". In other words, if LFP didn't block our signings, Mpenza would have been playing in La Coruña right now.
