Puerta suddenly collapsed on the pitch, but thanks to Dragutinovic's quick thinking he managed to get back up quite fast. He could even walk off the pitch. However, ten minutes later he collapsed again and was taken to a hospital. The doctors say he had a series of heart attacks. So I doubt he'll get back on the pitch one day. It's a shame, he was a great player. I hope he'll be alright.

It seems that Antonio Puerta has suffered five heart attacks between Saturday and now. The first occured on the pitch and on all occasions his heart was revived.

It's a really serious case and Puerta is kept in a coma. According to media he already had troubles in 2006 and this pre-season but passed medical checks without problems. Doctors label his case 'crititcal'.

This is tough for Puerta (22), considered to be one of Spain's biggest talents. He already has 54 Primera matches/5 goals behind his name and linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

But more important than his career, let's hope he overcomes this.

They say the reason for the heart attacks was that he was doped. Sevilla has now been linked with Fuentes...

I've just worked out what the hell you are on about now

I thought you meant that they were looking to replace Puerta with Fuentes, the young defender from Villarreal. I thought something was a bit odd about the following posts

LOL OMG

Then my post would totally not fit with deporiginals

Btw. here in DK, a site has a user, that says that Puerta is dead - that he was called up from someone in Spain...

I really hope it's just a very very bad joke.

Idiots!

I hate when the press print silly rumours without checking first. They just destroy the reputation of people. The problem of Puerta is hereditary, during the last hours, his condition has become worse and he is near to die

Now Rik: The B squads can no longer play in copa del rey, that was one of the modifications made to the competition some years ago. Therefore, Atletico B, Real Madrid B, Depor B, nor any other 'B squad' can't participate in this competition.
