For all of the talk about a revolution in football with Abramovich's arrival, his most extravagant purchase to date has been Andriy Shevchenko, breaking the then British transfer record in the process.

Consider that his insistence on attracting a star name backfired horrendously, as well as his personal wealth having contracted along with the global economy, and suddenly it looks more like the tabloid talk that it is.

United are supposedly ready to enter a bidding war with Man City for the star signing of... Guti. Tripe isn't confined to the transfer window.

Expect Milan and Chelski to heat up the race, oh that's too exciting. I thought Milan do not have the permission to sign under-35 players, that's new

In madrid-years guti is almost 50yrs old since he has been there for ages. And since Guti is such an exciting player i m sure they can make an exception!

nothing about that in the news here afaik. Why he would do that anyway? He has a spot in a better competition, it just depends on his injuries. He can't play in England or Turkye either if injured...

I think he's in the same position as Kewell, Baros, Keita etc. They needed redemption, so we gambled. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

We're building a strong team. With Arda-Elano-Kewell-Baros-Keita upfront, Servet the Bear Choker in defence (expect a major defender in January), Mehmet Topal as a young Vieira and Rijkaard as the boss, I can say we're on the right track. With a tempting offer, I don't think he can refuse...

I think we're not on the same line now why would he go? When fit, he can play in any team, and right now that is Assenal. With all respect and as much as i dislike assenal: it's still a 'higher' team than yours. Why would he take the step back? He doesnt need it.

Neither did Kewell, but he came anyway. He's been fighting with injuries for 1.5-2 years, his physical condition is a big question mark and I know some Arsenal fans want him out of the team if the right offer comes. His contract is set to expire in June, and Arsenal would want to get a couple of millions from him.

Of course Rosicky's real standard is Arsenal, but you can't say he's at the peak of his condition. Top players can have setbacks like this...

Nery Castillo is close to his return to Olympiacos , 2.5 years after his move to Shakhtar .
He was a let down for the Ukrainians and in generally the past 3 years (he also played for Man City and Dniepr) did nothing.. But his only chance to play some good football again imo is Olympiacos.

Haris Seferovic, a guy who will turn 18 in February, who plays for Switzerland U-17 and is potential player of Bosnian NT, is transfered from Grashoppers to Fiorentina!
He is striker and was the best goalscorer and the champion with Switzerland of the U-17 WC last year. Transfer fee still uknown.
