Van Bommel the butcher is at it again, and Holland somehow escapes a clear red card yet again. All we need now is another invalid goal for Holland

Unbelievable!! Howard Webb lost his bottle completely and the Dutch have been given a licence to cause as much damage as they want. I know they have to try and stop Spain from keeping posession and dominating play but they were doing an OK job without the high tackles with studs up and ploughing through the back of people.
De Jong hit Alonso in the chest with studs up and Alonso was off the ground jumping, so could have been hit in the throat or face if he wasn't jumping.
Van Bommel has got 1 yellow from about 4-5 yellow card offences and even Sneider got in on the act but because he pretends he injured himself too, he gets away without even a friggin yellow.

Still a close game. Hope holland wins though. Ridiculous yellow card for van Bronckhorst though .... spanish player takes a dive and he gets yellow... unbelievable

second half was equally tough, but much more interesting.

still, a very equal game. extra time is the best that would have come out of this

Spain are going to get caught on the counter attack because Puyol is left as last man and he looks like he's running in syrup.

I never had a problem with the Dutch before and even when everyone was banging on about how they don't compare with previous Dutch teams, I always thought they were a decent side who were just a bit more tactical than before. But the fact they're still playing with 11 is an absolute disgrace.

Van Bommel is for me the most consistantly dirty player I can think of that's playing at the moment.

I think I'm going to have a heartattack if this would go to penalties. so nerve wrecking. I think spain was better in the last 20 mins of the second half but before that it was pretty even in my eyes with maybe a slight advantage for holland looking at the danger Robben created on a few occasions

Considering how we've seen so few chances in this game, I can't believe Del Bosque took off Spain's most successful striker in this tournament and a decent penalty taker

Holland finally down to 10 although ironically, Heitinga's offence probably wouldnt even make the top 20 of bad challenges in this game.

If this goes to penalties, I fancy the Dutch

EDIT: Howard Webb is a complete idiot.

Robben blatantly kicks the ball away after being flagged offside and stopping but what is always an obvious yellow goes unpunished. Now watch Robben and Van Bommel score pens

outragouis.... the play just before the goal it was offside they should have flagged it off already. Again it shows we need video refs or something like that at this world cup. Again a bad offside decision decides the game.....

If you ask me The Netherlands deserve this for its rude game througout the game. I'm really disappointed with what the Oranges did today.

on the other hand it can be said that spain was diving all over the place as well so I think that was kind of disgracefull as well. Plus the goal shouldn't have been allowed though seing as the play leading up to the goal was offside. Holland really didn't deserve this.

Congratz Spain though

Euhm... What offside? Holland should shut the hell up about the ref. Without them, they wouldn't have been here. And today, Robben, Van Bommel and De Jong all should've gotten a red, but didn't. Pretty funny that the one time Robben should've fallen down, he stayed up Now he has nothing on Webb. Dutch commentator was complaining jus now that Robben should've been man of the match Also, I saw 1 dive of Spain, 1. You're clearly pro-Holland and me, I'm anti-Holland, but come on
