Default Mauro, Fran and other past great.

I was thinking about todays game against Osasuna in the Copa and I've notice that Mauro and Fran won't play and I was thinking what are they currently doing, I've heard that Mauro wanted to return to Brazil and there were some rumors obaut Fran playing in Quatar, anybody knows what are they doing now, where are they living, and also other past Depor players like Donato, Arsenio, Claudio or Bebeto ?

Mauro is living in Brazil and is not planning to come back to Coruña in the short term. He would be glad to help scouting for Depor but from Brazil.

Fran is living at A Coruña where he tried last weeks to recover from an ankle injury. He didn't make it before Galicia friendly so he couldn't play.

Arsenio is the chief of the Council sport schools and was appointed as coach of Galician team for its first match.

Donato is living in A Coruña and Brazil but don't know what he's doing for living.

Claudio is the manager (not the coach) of Elche, where he lives.

Bebeto. Afaik, he was living in Brazil and acting as a players' agent. Some of his representées played for Fabril (Henrique) but were not very good.

Mauro is back in Brazil.
Fran I suppose still living near Coruña.
Donato I saw in the beach in Coruña in the summer, but apparently he moves backwards and forwards between Brazil and Coruña.
Bebeto is in Brazil,I thought he was some kind of football agent????
Rest not sure

Edited** to add Zepp beat me to it
Nice to see we agree though!!!!

I wonder when the club will finally involve more of our past players in its structure. It doesn't have to be as president, in management etc., but why not involve former players from Brazil as scouts, former players that still live in La Coruna as coaches for the youth teams etc.? Nothing against Ricardo Moar, but I have more faith in the scouting of a world-class football player like Mauro, e.g.

For example, our past players Nando and Javier Manjarin are coaches of the Juvenil-A of La Coruna-based club Ural CF.
http://www.ural-espanol.com/ural/not...es/nando2.html
Both were internationals with Spain and I guess it's something special for the kids to be coached by them.

Maybe it's too much for one season, but I hope that after the policy change towards younger players, Lendoiro makes the 2nd change and considers the involvement of our past players as well.

Totally agree. Mauro said he needed to go to Brazil, let his hair down and spend time with his family.
I recently read somewhere that he said he would like to be involved with Depor again in the future. Acting as a Depor scout in Brazil would be brilliant for us.

I think Donato married a girl from Galicia, so I would not be suprised if he is living somewhere in La Coruna..

I think Songo'o also has a house in the city, he should be the ideal Goalkeeping coach...

Strange, just this morning there was an article in my paper, about former famous players that went to Arabia and so to get some extra money before retiring. And in that list was Bebeto... There wasn't a lot of info about him. Just the year he moved to Qatar (2001 me thinks) or somewhere close to Qatar...

Donato's wife is Brazilian, not from here, but he has a house in front of Coruña (at the other side of the "ria" -I can't translate that-) and they spend most of their time here. One of his daughters got married not much time ago and I believe she is living here as well (not so sure about this last piece of info, though; I must check the Hello more often :P)
