Default LIGA | Nov-28-2015 | matchday 13 | Las Palmas 0v2 Depor | post-match thread

Las Palmas 0v2 Deportivo

Las Palmas looked fairly poor to be honest but that shouldn't take anything away from the Depor performance.

To be fair, we should probably have won this game much more comfortably with Lucas, Luisinho and Fajr all having really good opportunities to add to the score, while Alex was really unlucky to hit the post.

I wasn't keen on the line up before the game with Celta but Victor proved that he knows far better than us armchair supporters what he is doing. What I like most about these recent performances is that there is a real "team" ethic, in terms of workrate and passing. The only one that still seems like he is struggling to fit into this team is Jonathan but even he showed some good moves before being taken off.

Hopefully give a couple of reserves a run out in the cup this week so some key players can be rested. Up to 5th now I think

I'm very impressed by the performance of the team in this season. We have better squad compering to last years, and better coach.

We need to be sharper a bit with counterattacks, because against a stronger team we could have left 2 points.

Only 2 loss during 13 games, Barca has the same amount of losses too.
Lucas with 9 goals, 3rd on the top scorer list, only Suarez and Neymar scored more.
And the team is really a team, just look at the reaction of Lucas after the goal, if the commentator did not lie, then he went to camera with Fajr and said "he is my brother"
The target is probably still to avoid relegation, but who knows, maybe we can dream a bit bigger too

It's ninth match in a row that we are hitting the post at least once per game?

Congrats for the second win in a row.

1- Lux is gaining confidence
2- Juanfran is solid, defensively and offensively, when Victor gives him the freedom to make those runs
3- Mosquera is HUGE
4- Cartabia and Luis Alberto can give more offensively compared to Cani and Luisinho

mosquera does soooo much for us.
Since super depor days we have passed this much.

lux is begging to keep his place and I think he should until he messes up lol

Somehow I still worry about Lucas. he looks every game like he is upset with everyone during the game. Arribas seemed to be trying to calm him down a few times in the game. And he refused to pass to fajr then called him his brother lol. Anyway he is playing pretty well so keep it up

Fajr is losing his shine but did well to feed lucas

I can see Luis Alberto doing what Cani did during the goal but not Fede. Id like to see more fede and jonothon rod in the copa game though

great 3 points!

Another good win, any away win is well-earned. Good to see Lucas scoring goals regularly.

Great to not be worrying about relegation battle and thinking about how high we can finish for once.

Victor shows again that he can make changes and still win and plus for the first time he showed continuity for a line up.

Lucas is starting to worry me! he wasted two easy attempts and in one of them he should have passed it to Fajer but didn't do that vice versa he scored because Fajer passed the ball to him

it would have been disaster if we lost this one after wasting very clear chances.

we played good but we have to be very worried about lack of sharpeness in the offence, if Lux did not stop Palmas clear chance in the last 15 minutes we would have definitely lost this game.

actually that was just a couple of minutes before we killed the game with Lucas second goal. So really huge save by Lux who is regaining his confidence after all.
Apart from that really good game with many chances unfortunately not always our players are able to seize the opportunities, but they will have to against stronger teams in La Liga.
I really like the attitude of our players, everyone is sacrificing himself for the team and it seems like Victor is succeeding with creating good and competitive team with more than two players for each position. Which makes me think that even if we lost key player we can still manage to win points. Pure examples are Luis Alberto and Borges.
I'm sure Victor already thinks for another striker good enough to partner with Lucas or even replace him if he gets injured, although Jonathan showed some good skills yesterday he is still lacking goals and if he manage to score some will be great for his confidence.
Any news about the condition of Jonas?

yea we wasted a lot of chances and that is a little worrying but on the bright side both our goals and the second goal against celta were from quick ball counters and that's really really good

in the days of makaay and raul and morientes a one-on-one with the keep was instant dribble and score. we had two and squandered both. that needs to be worked on fa real

Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like our game is 100% counter attacking football. We mostly stay back with 9-10 players then counter attack for our goals with 2-3 players. We play really safe in my opinion. I didn't watch the full game but watched the first 30min of it.
