![]() comment for skysports about this game
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() it begins here: (from skysports.com) Well, they are not called Super Depor anymore! They became too big, had too many expenses and had to pay too high wages and just didn't have enough money coming in. It all blew up of course, three years ago when they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League - that was their swansong. Now they go by the name of Baby Depor because the side is full of youngsters and they have hardly spent any money. They've also got people coming towards the end of their contract like Albert Lopo. The big names like Pedro Munitis and Diego Tristan are gone as well, but keep any on Riki and Javier Arizmendi up front. Depor are still trying to play the Joaquin Caparros (pictured) way, by working hard in midfield, but at the moment it is neither pretty, nor effective.(he think tristan was still as good as he was 4 years ago ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But they are facing a team that is in crisis itself. Villarreal should make a collective visit to the psychiatrist because they just cannot understand how they are having such a poor season after reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. They probably thought that they had made the big time and that the football would come automatically without them having to work hard and as a result, dropped their energy levels. They have of course been affected by the injuries to Robert Pires and Gonzalo Rodriguez, but they just don't know why they can't score goals. They were also knocked out of the Intertoto Cup as well, but I suppose they were bound to have a difficult year post-Champions League success. Everyone seems to suffer from that unless you've got the squad, the quality, the aura and the institution of a big club like Real, Barcelona and even Valencia.

![]() He didn't say we were in crisis at all. He said we were facing a team in crisis (Villarreal).
He also didn't say anything about Tristan being as good now as he was 4 years, in fact he recently quoted Caparros' words about Tristan being a big player in the bars but nowhere else and said he agreed with it. What he did say that I thought was a bit harsh was that our style of football wasn't pretty or effective. It might not be as pretty as Barca's football but 7/9 has got to be considered as effective.

![]() I just went to check what he wrote again and there's good news and bad news.
The bad news is; he has updated the site to this weeks previews. The good news is; he has published my email ![]() He totally avoided the question about our effectiveness though ![]() http://home.skysports.com/column.asp...=football_home
