I was there along with deporik and my son.
What a great performance by depor especially in the 1st half.
Riki was like a new signing he was majestic if he plays like that 1 in 3 games I would be very happy!!

It's true that we didn't play Real Madrid's best 11 but when you consider that their "reserves" contained Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Cicinho, Salgado, Dudek, Saviola, Soldado and Baptista, they are hardly a bunch of nobodies. Our entire team probably cost less than 1-2 of their defenders.

We didn't even put out our best side IMO. Munua made a brilliant double save in the game but he is definitely not our number 1 keeper. I doubt players like Rodri and Taborda will be regular starters and even the likes of J.R, PabloAlvarez and Verdu might struggle to command a place. Felipe could also find it difficult to get a regular place once we sign a left back, so we can say that we played with quite a few reserves ourselves against Real Madrid.

What ever the sides were, the one consistant fact remains. We whooped them in the Riazor once again and so long as that continues, I don't mind what side either team has

I had such a good retort to that but couldn't use it because I'd have to give myself a warning lol.

Anyways, I was very satisfied. I was just saying that the fact that we "only" beat Real Madrid's reserves shouldn't detract from the situation that we still played extremely well against some decent players. It was a positive comment about us, not negative.

As Rik says they played with a fairly stong team.

OK no Raul or Guti, but Guti was on the bench as far as I could tell.

Anyhow they used it as the Super Cup warm up and so did not field anyone that is not considered to be in the 25.

I am also in agrement with Rik that we did not field our strongest team.

I was also there in person and to be honest...the central defense seemed very shaky and unorganized at times. Guardado played stellar and Riki showed signs of good play which later he countered by about 30-40 minutes of last year's Riki playing. It's hard to say exactly how we looked because not all starters were present but i think Rodri, Guardado, De Guzman and Filipe Luis had the best games.
