Default LIGA: 16.09.06 Deportivo - Villarreal (pre-match comments)

Ou history against Villarreal in Riazor (Primera)

1998-1999 ----> DEPOR 2 -- VILLARREAL 1
2000-2001 ----> DEPOR 4 -- VILLARREAL 2
2001-2002 ----> DEPOR 0 -- VILLARREAL 0
2002-2003 ----> DEPOR 2 -- VILLARREAL 1
2003-2004 ----> DEPOR 0 -- VILLARREAL 1
2004-2005 ----> DEPOR 1 -- VILLARREAL 1
2005-2006 ----> DEPOR 0 -- VILLARREAL 2

Villarreal has one point and zero goals scored. They just lost with Recreativo (0-1).

We should take advantage of the fact that they are down in morale, and sink them even deeper in misery. Capa should try using a more offensive lineup for this game and put some new faces in the starting 11 (Estoyanoff?Cristian?Filipe?) A win here would make the draw at mallorca worthwhile

Its gonna be hard, a good team like that with only 1 point going into week 3 will fight to the death for a win. I hope we can handle them.

Looking at the stats, we couldn't beat Villarreal in 4 of the 5 latest occasions in Riazor...

tough game? hell yes !! but the most important thing is that this game will be probably broadcasted everywhere and it will show to the world the new Depor. Besides our challenge with them for the european places, there's a challenge to have more games shown on TV.
Go BabyDepor

This is gonna be interesting. Vilareal just lost, so we have good odds. I'm just not sure if we can take any advantage of that. I think it'll be a very entertaining match with a lot of chances to both sides. I can't wait to watch to this match.

I also agree with what ggeorg has said. This match against Villarreal significantly test the squad dynamics against undoubtable quality opposition.

Most of these youngster would not have played against such a well drilled team like this yet, and midfield battle will be brutal...!
