Global Football Competition - 2007/2008

This competition will be run with the same set of rules used in the Asia Cup, Euro2004, WC2006 and Confederations Cup tournaments.

Basically, all you do is predict the score (no scorers needed).

As an example, I will use the first game on Aug 17; MTK Budapest v Debrecen. Let's pretend that MTK won the game 1-0.


The minimum amount of points scored in a group game is 0, with the maximum amount being 10 .


5 points can be scored by predicting the outcome, so if your prediction has MTK down as winning, you will score at least 5 points.


You can add to this total by guessing the correct amount of goals for each side. So if you guessed a 2-0 win for MTK, you would get 5 points for MTK winning and an extra point for guessing Debrecen amount of goals scored. However, if you guessed a 1-0 win for MTK, you would not only get your 5 points plus an extra 2 for guessing each teams correct score. You would instead get a bonus for getting everything correct and receive the maximum 10 points.


If you predicted a draw/tie or a Debrecen win in this scenario, you can still score a point if you guess one of the teams scores correctly. So if you guessed 1-1 or Debrecen to win 2-1, you would still get a point for guessing MTK's correct amount of goals scored.


Updating


The scores will hopefully be updated the day after the fixture has been played. There will however be times when this might be a bit later especially after weekend games as my workload is much higher then.

PLEASE NOTE: It is best to get your predictions in early because sometimes the football federations bring games forward for TV etc. Therefore, if you're leaving your prediction until the last minute, you can miss out through no real fault of your own.
