China banning Nintendo sales
This is Fu**ing crazy:
BEIJING--In the last few days, tensions between China and Japan have shot up to a very high point, especially after a violent anti-Japanese protest in Shanghai. The two countries have refused to apologise to each other. To make matters worse, President Hu Jintao announced Sunday that China will not be buying any Nintendo products, and it will enforce this law retroactively, searching homes for Nintendo products and burning them in huge bonfires that will take place in Nanjing, Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu.
"Japan cannot live without the revenue from Nintendo, so China will be able to overcome it and easily outwithstand it in this battle," Jintao boasted.
Although Tokyo did not express any worry, emotions were very different at the Nintendo HQ. According to the Nintendo Census of Gamers, 45% of China's homes have Gamecubes.
"Indeed, Japan will be hurt by this, but China is shooting itself in the foot," Nintendo head Shigeru Miyamoto said worriedly.
There was chaos at both the Nintendo HQ and the NOA HQ in Redmond, WA. Workers ran around frantically; many were crying or screaming, some looting. Others tried to run away, but were indicted for leaving work early.
Miyamoto says he will appeal to Tokyo to invade China and force it to revoke its boycott. Russia and Pakistan have also put restrictive laws on Nintendo, but they do not severely affect Nintendo
