It's 2008 now, not the mid 90's. If there was a scandal, didnt they learn anything from it? However it's spain, so i agree things could happen, however it seems very unlikely there will be a transfer. First of all because of the non-eu spots being taken and secondly because Depor absolutely doesnt have 20m dollar to spend on him, or anything near it.

Not at the moment...
I think its quite reasonable to spend the 50-60% of a possible Colo's transfer, for a striker, so i think we might buy a striker for 7-8 million euros...But, ok, 20m dollars is way too much!!

if Falcao is worth 20m, we would rather choose Palacio who is worth 16M in winter transfer.

Isnt there a way Deguzman(or any of the other non-EU players) can get a EU passport?

I came to think about.. doesn't De Guzman have a brother? Jonathan De Guzman in PSV. He has a dutch passport, i i think he has games for the dutch national team.. Maybe Julian also has dutch blood somewhere?

It's not about their blood. Both of them were born in Canada and are of Jamaican/Filipino descent.
Jonathan has been in playing at Feyenoord since he was 12 and got his Dutch citizenship because he's been residing there for so long.

Julian is obviously a Canadian international already and I'd think he was very proud of his country, so I'd doubt very much he'd want to change nationality.
I guess you can have joint nationality can you? so if that's the case then it's possible.
