If Depor is looking for a winger,... why don't they search in the USA?
I heard Landon Donovan (born in 1982) is the best north american football player. He actually plays on loan for San Antonio Earthquakes and the National team. Finishes contract in 2004 with Bayer Laverkusen.

Of course we can't say the MLS has the Spanish liga level...
but imagine all the merchanding.....

One of my favorite players in the US! He actually plays for San Jose and is an excellent player. He was the hero of last years World Cup, as a large part of US succes was due to his great play. He would be a great fit for Depor. He grew up not far from me.

Yes he is a good player,BUT he is really not a winger and he could not even get into Bayer Leverkusen's side.
I'm not holding this against him but would he give us anything different apart from the great merchandise opportunity in the USA.???????

True he did not take to Leverkusen very well but remember that he signed with them in 1999 at the youg age of 17. Since then he has matured greatly, gaining much international experience, including a World Cup in which he scored two goals. He is more of a forward than a winger but knows how to play the position. He is young and fast as hell and though he may not actually want to play in Europe, he is definatly worthy of playing for Depor. Besides, he has a sister named Tristan, maybe it is a sign!

There could be other reasons why he cannot make it into the Leverkusen side, could be more of PR reasons than footballing reasons. He was indeed too young when he signed on for Leverkusen, and i dun tink he's happy with the way the club treats him.

From what i see of him in the world cup, he would be a nice asset to bring over to depor in terms of skill and merchandising publicity. as for his sister being called tristan... coincidence maybe?

wonder if lendoiro would consider bidding for a promising young american to join his team.

Donovan is a striker, I don´t think that we need another one in this moment

If you want a USA player to be transfer to Depor I prefer Demarcus Besley he is good, fast, young and could help us in the wings.
