I've seen the Leganes-RM game and if nerves weren't so much around, Leganes would always have scored that third goal. How many open opportunities in those last 10 minutes?!

Celta had the ideal team for this, full of Celtistas, 80% home grown players, but players with tremendous quality among them (Aspas, Denis Suarez, Santi Mina, Rafinha...). They were one goal away of the relegation.
Granada on the other hand, a team full of loanies and mercenaries, got a European spot

The truth is that smaller clubs cannot think beyond one season. Even if we end up building a strong team through youthful homegrown players, they could potentially leave after one good season. What we need is a good academy system that can produce high quality players consistently. I realise that is also unrealistic in the short term. Essentially the only way to survive is to get a sugar daddy. That aint happening anytime soon either.

yeah, that whole issue with the academies etc, is quite complicated. Besides the obvious emotional aspect (we all love our own players who feel the shirt), the results in sporting sense (Celta, Espanyol) or financial sense (what's the cost of building a player, taking into account infrastructure and everything, and does this makes more financial sense than loaning Mendes stock?) are dubious...

we can agree, at Depor, the last 15 years or more, we just burnt away money at Abegondo, still I would not close it, maybe we should spend all our money on youth academy coaches.

the format for the new segunda b has been revealed.

It will be 5 groups of 20 teams. But each group is not just a group, each group is 2 groups with 10 teams each
When they finish this phase they get distributed again to new groups, and some more groups again until the point that none knows in which group plays and for what.
Then the big heads will decide who will get promoted.
