It's interesting what he is saying in recent interviews. He mentioned possible problems with the past squads, contracts. Now I'm curious what he will do. It looks like he has a clear picture. Also he is open to talk with reporters. So far I'm optimistic.

Carmelo del Pozo (about Francis): There are players who shouldn't forget that they are where they are because Depor made a gamble on them, some coming from África, that they didn't even have clothes.

Del Pozo comes across as a complete ass in this debacle.

Francis responded with a bit of humour and a bit of crypticness.

“I came into this world without cloths so it’s not that bad that i came into Europe without cloths on to. I was tAUGHT back home to choose my battle wisely. FORZA DEPOR #”

So we are not counting with Francis because he most likely is playing ANC? first of all, this is not something del pozo should decide. Second, wtf!

Del pozo out.
I have never liked this guy. Now I guess every disappointed with him. How can a professional club afford such a behaviour.

Insua, Rober and now Uzoho?
This club doesn't have any prospect for the future.
Tino era has been a disaster. I'm very disappointed.

We loaned Insua and Rober because of Albentosa.
And see what the result was.
Albentosa always made silly mistakes and finally dropped us to Segunda.

David De Gea was a promising youngster. But the most important thing was De Gea played a lot of matches though he lacks experiences.

Bring back Lendoiro. I don't like him but it would be better than now at least.

This really is disgraaceful. Del Pozo needs to appologize to Francis and the fans. Then, he should leave him to train with the first team and let the GK coach decide who is the best man for the job.
We need clear divisions of responsabilities - the sporting director shouldn't be the one to decide this.

I get your point but you can't really compare the two players. De Gea was considered the next Iker and was Spain's #1 GK in every youth team starting at 14 years old whereas Francis was pretty unknown until 17 when Depor gave him a chance for their Juveniles. Most top GK's in Spain are in 2B until around 19-20 when an injury gives them an opportunity (See De Gea's story with Asenjo or Kepa). Hopefully the 2 can work things out and Francis can continue getting the experience he needs at 2B and training with the 1st team. With any injury he becomes the backup and we have enough cover with Cobo (If he wants to stay) at Fabril.

We are quietly also giving the young players a chance this preseason. Mujaid, Blas, One, Caballo have all been getting a lot of minutes (mostly due to injuries) but maybe Natxo will give these kids a chance. Ironically on most spanish forums they are blasting the club for not signing players in those positions after complaining of not using the youth players. This team and fan base and has been so inconsistent and am hoping that someone (President, Technical Director, Manager) can fix the inconsistency.

I remember that Francis had already been World Champion with Nigeria U-17. Also he was already 18 years old when we signed him last year in January.

Of course, maybe his level has increased a lot working these months with Manu Sotelo and quality GK like Rubén, Tyton, Pantillimon or Koval, from who he could learn everything...
