Default Petit (Benfica)

Ive read today that we are interested in Benfica's portuguese midfielder Petit. Marca claim that he could be Duscher's replacement.

Does anyone have any info on Petit..?

From our news section:

Armando Gonçalves Teixeira 'Petit' (27) is another player in which Lendoiro has shown interest. The Portuguese plays as a midfielder for Benfica and is part of the national team. He was nicknamed Petit because of his small frame and the fact that he was born in France. He is known as 'the pitbull' by his supporters, because of the fierceness with which he faces every game. He renewed his contract with Benfica and Depor will have to pay a high price for him. However, Duscher's transfer could be the key factor in his signing.

Tottenham look eager to sign Duscher but its a case of lets wait and see. I like Petit because he gets stuck into the opposition, he shows great determination and fights for the whole 90 mins.

In my oppinion Petit is a crap player... Every time i have seen him with the national team he played very poor so dont use the money so bad Lendoiro. He will become a new Acuna. Actually I rate both Pita and Acuna higher then Petit.

The only player i want to see arrive from Benfica is ...

Manuel Fernandes (19) is a young Portuguese promise who also plays for Benfica. He's a midfielder who has won a place in the first team. He's a box-to-box man with a great physique and a handy ability with long-range shots. The youngster has established himself as the ideal replacement for Portuguese international Tiago, who was one of José Mourinho's first signings after his move to Chelsea FC last summer. Of course, Chelsea's coach is already one of Manuel Fernandes' most ardent fans. In his weekly column for the Portuguese sportspaper Record, the coach compared the young midfield player to another of his Stamford Bridge charges, tireless French international Claude Makelele. Fernandes has a contract with Benfica until 2010 and it's expected that his transfer price will be high.

Mmmm... Petit is not a good option... He's just ok, average... He's not even a starter for the Portuguese national team...
He fights, he runs, he bites... but doesn't "create". I'd keep Duscher so.
Manuel Fernandes is a different story. He's much younger and he's promising. Still, it remains to be seen if he's to become a "star". In any case, hiring him would make more sense than replacing Duscher for Petit!

Duscher is much better than Petit. I think if we can sell Duscher for a lot of money we should buy Fernandes. Whenever I´ve seen him he impressed me. But we shouldn´t forget that we already signed De Guzmán, he´s also a very good defensive midfielder. I really like Duscher (look at my nickname and my avatar) and I would only sell him for around 15m euros.

well if they do sell him they have to find at least one more deffensive midfielder, assuming that the coach of next year, whoever it might be does play the same tactics, wich i hope he doesnt, i would like to see two strikers and if that does happen then we plrobably wont need another deffensive midfielder because de guzman and sergio will be enough and we can spend the money on a striker.

I watched him yesterday in the Portuguese Cup Final which his team lost. He's not good enough for Depor. He has a very poor defensive skills for a central midfielder. Made a couple of stupid tackles during the match. However, he has nice accurate passes.
