Default A Shame

George Burley is no longer the head coach at Premier League leaders Hearts, BBC Scotland understands.

Burley arrived at Tynecastle in the summer and made a wonderful start, with the Edinburgh club going 10 games unbeaten to reach the top of the SPL.

However, rumours have persisted about an uneasy relationship between Burley and major shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

It is not clear if Burley has been sacked or walked away but Hearts will make a statement at 1800 BST.

This is a big shame, If Romanov has forced Burley out he is not a clever man, they are having a great season. Unless Burley just doesn't want Romanov to take over the club completely.

They are leading Celtic at the top of the table by 3 points. Goal difference is also the best in the league, 17!

They're already 2-0 up this afternoon.

It was a big shock when I heard about it and everyone i've met today is talking about it. Rumours have already started about him taking over at Rangers. The owner Vladimir Romanov is trying to completely run the club (including buying players, saying who should be playing etc.) and this annoyed Burley who is a brilliant manager.

Its now rumoured that he 'resigned' because he didn't field the Lithuanian players signed by Romanov, Hearts can now be seen in the Baltic country and the lack of minutes for Cesnauskas etc. is annoying the top man (Romanov - who has an estimated £500 million in the bank).

Today Claudio Ranieri was inteviewed at Tynecastle, Bobby Robson and Nevio Scala are the other favourites to take the extremely hot seat at the league leaders

Romanov yesterday sacked Chief Executive Phil Anderton and in protest the Chairman George Foulkes resigned, the man taking there positions at the moment is none other than Romanov's son

I have a feeling that George Burle will replace Alex McLeish at Rangers soon.
