We may need 7 points or more from our last 3 games but as deporiginal said, let’s take this one game at a time. Fail to win this one and we’re dead. FV needs to work on the players’ mental side now this week and not concentrate solely on their physical conditioning. Nerves beat them against Valladolid and that performance was out of character with how we’ve been playing recently. It’ll be interesting to see if he can do this because this is as important a skill for a manager to have as good coaching/technical/tactical ability. As long as we fight for the full 90+ minutes, that’s all we can ask.

At least it's good to know we have a pretty good history against them.

Let's beat them and just hope to whatever deity you believe in that Athletic kicks Zaraputa's ass.

How is Aguilar doing?

Sadly, this quote sums up what's left of the season perfectly. A win gives us hope, a loss or draw means half of Fabril is promoted to Segunda next year (I'm exaggerating, but you get the point).
The guys need to shake off the memory of a bad loss and focus on playing like they did a month ago. A motivated team that played like the opponent didn't belong on the pitch with them. That's the team we need to see against Espanyol. It's there, somewhere. FV just has to help them rediscover it.

the past fixtures speak for itself 3 points to depor.

its been a tough year for Depor but i think they will avoid relagation and if they do i think next season will be a big step forward.

3 points against Espanyol, especially from a convincing win, should restore that winning mentality and make them that aggressive team once again.

I think 6 points will be enough, given that Zaragoza are facing Bilbao, Betis and Atletico! even if 2 of them have not much to play for, they won't throw the game away!

That's another reason why this weekend is so important. Bilbao at home is technically Zaragoza's easiest remaining game of the season. If they lose that one, I'll assume two wins for us will suffice. If it still matters on the final matchday, I'm sure Pizzi and Silvio will motivate their Atletico-teammates And Filipe won't even need any extra motivation.

They're saying Abel may rejoin the group in training. Hope so. We could really use him these last three games.

IMO he has been the biggest of all misses so far.. i think, if he was playing against Valladolid, game would have been more interesting for us..

They also say it's expected he'll play this weekend. They said the same thing last week though. Good news, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

If he can't play, I really hope we see Assunçao instead of Alex. With all due respect to Alex, as he had a large part in our promotion last year, but he's a Segunda player.

True. You can't score when you keep passing backwards to the defense. He needs to be more aggressive in the attack. Aguilar loves going forward and that's what we need this weekend. To keep pushing Espanyol back and not give them any breathing room.

for our Spanish speaking friends:

any news on how Espanyol and their fans perceive this game? is it important to them? I couldn't tell much from the standing! They're in 11th place with 44 points! Maybe they have hope to qualify for Europa league? or looking for better TV revenue?

Colotto just said that Espanyol is more motivated than Depor for the game

But Sergio (currently the coach of Espanyol B) perfectly explained the situation:

"The fans don't believe the team will qualify to Europe. Neither the players. They just want to end the season as soon as possible. It doesn't mean they will give the game away, because I believe they will respect the competition, but don't expect to see them putting a lof of effort on it."
