Default ex-Player topic: Laure (born 1985, Defender)

People following Deportivo B knew Laure before, but for others he must have come out of nowhere to be the right defender of Deportivo at the pitch of one of the best teams in Spain: Villarreal.

The Galicians played a more than decent match, while Laure by most press was considered the best player of Deportivo and, next to Nihat, the best player on the pitch.

According to the commentator in the swedish channel that broadcasted the game he was raised in Real Madrid's youth academy.

I was very impressed with his performance except for the third goal where he should have put more pressure on Nihat and not allow him to shoot. Other than that me made a close to perfect game, helping out well in the offensive sector.

yes, he was with Castilla till 2006, and then went to Leganes for a yr..
i heard that he put in a couple of accurate crosses too.. all in all a very impressive debut at an age of 22, nearly 23..

Yes he did a good game. I think that he was a little bit nerves in the begining but grow as the game went on. He was aggressive and showed some fighting spirit.

He had an excellent game. I'm very pleased with all the fabril players who've made their debut with the first squad this year.

I was very happy with his performance.... he showed concentration & grit... he made a mistake.... but these things happen!

IMO - better defensively than Barragan. We need M.Pablo back, but in the meantime.. Laure Like Adrian (defender) can help us out during a difficult time with injuries.

Laure is listed with an assistance in the chart, and he played 1 game. Manuel Pablo has made 1 assistance during this season.. But MP played 16 games. While defending, I also noticed that Laure tried to cut off the attacks further from our goal than Manuel Pablo, who usually takes a more deep position.

Laure's assistance was in the goal of Guardado.

His cross to Adrián should have been a goal. The striker was left alone in front of an empty goal; he just had to push it in, yet he hit it with the wrong foot.

Crosses are not a virtue of Manuel Pablo, nor of Guardado when he's in the right side (although he sent a good one to Taborda from there). Although I wish MP recovers soon, I'll be happy if we see more of Laure's play this weekend.

More of a short pass than an assist but congrats to him for his first assist in Liga. I really liked his energy against Villarreal but you could tell he's not technically gifted. Sure you can say he's a defender and doesn't need to be which is partially right, but I think as a wingback you have to have some decent controll of the ball. Still, he is young and just started with the first team, and he's shown great signs of potential. Especially defensively. He's very quick too, now he just needs experience and intelligence on the field. I would rather see M Pablo start against Almeria simply because he's more of a safe bet, but if Laure plays I guess it's because M.Pablo's not 100% fit to play 90 mins

IMO Laure looked like a right back, as opposed to Felipe and Barragan who looked like wing backs.

Lets hope he will develop in next 1-2 seasons, so he can become successor of Manuel Pablo. He is doing well for now...

Suprised he's not in the squad for tomoro's game - especially as Baragan has been dropped, and M.Pablo is returning from injury - Lotina makes some strange decisions!
