Seems like it's confirmed that he won't renew with Madrid. Another defender fewer, good

. I wonder who they'll target, Thuram seems a bit too old, Puyol is nearly impossible to get, Zanetti wouldn't leave Inter, Sagnol is very good but doesn't have a galactic reputation. I've heard they're after Carvalho from Porto though, that could be a good buy perhaps but that's for the centre. Or will Mińambres or Rubén get a chance finally?

Hard to evaluate Michel Salgado. I'm used to disliking him, last season I didn't believe he had improved, just thought he was in good form and playing together with the world's best players affected him positively but now as he continues to play well, it seems that he's actually a good wing back. And now having developed Madrid are letting him go... he might well succeed at Chelsea.

Chelse already have 2 right backs. Melchot from Holland and Johnson england who they paid £6 million for in the summer.

Yeah but why not have a third if they also already have Hasselbaink, Gudjohnsson, Crespo, Mutu, Forssell and Cole all as strikers (2 last on loan)

I'm also glad to see Salgado go( if he really goes). Not that I care about Salgado but it's nice to see Mandril loses one useful player. No matter who RM will sign to replace him let's hope he'll be worse than Salgado...
Knowing Perez's policy, I don't think he'll invest big money on defense. Remember the Milito episode this summer? Most likely he'll promote the likes of Ruben, Minambres...at least I hope so---to make the galaxy even more unbalanced.

AS say he is going to Chelsea,BUT Marca say that negociations are still on going but difficult.

I hope he goes! because right now he's the best/fittest RM's defender, and if he leaves it'd good for us

it's Melchiot but i think Melchiot is better then Johnson

Just like what I thought...he renews w/RM.

Players of RM ( except the galatics) always threaten to leave but they seldom do---untill the club really kick them away( cases of Savio, Morientes, Munitis,etc,..) but they would still say" my heart is with RM"

...
That's why I never really believe that Salgado would leave...
Makelele at least has the dignity and self-respect to do so. He is just not the type...

Salgado may leave to my opinion it would make it easier to score against RM so that would benefit us
