Looks like Fifa will be the game to beat this year:

It is pity for PES 2009, for me PES is for 100000 times better (gameplay) and FIFA is just rubbishing a footbal.

IGN is already hinting that the XBox 360 and PS3 versions will surpass PES in terms of gameplay this year. You're just biased Unless you're talking about pc versions of course, there PES is still the best. But those pc versions still come nowhere near the quality of Fifa on Xbox 360 and PS3.

I have played the Fifa 09 demo on PS3 and am totally amazed. So much closer to real football than PES has ever been! I've always been a Pro Evo player even though in the last couple of years I hardly played any of the two as PES was always the better game but the same old stuff every year while I found Fifa was just unplayable on the long run. But this time around... Fifa is just brilliant (This coming from someone who has been hating on Fifa for many years)!

I just downloaded the FIFA 09 demo from the Playstation store and I must admit, it's good.

Looking forward to full release.

Here is trailer of FIFA 09 [PS2]. It is looking better than FIFA 08, but I hope news version will be much realistic than 08

I played the demo; and must admit it's much better than the 08, despite being a PES fan.

Will be waiting it's release.

After reading some reviews, they all say that this year's PES and FIFA are just as good, but in a different way. But thanks to the licenses EA has and Komani doesn't have, Fifa 09 is in the end the "better" choice according to reviews. Well, they say it's too close to call, but that Fifa takes the edge cause of the licenses. Woohoo, take that PES-fanboys

The biggest new thing about PES is the new "become a legend" mode, an exact clone of Fifa's "be a pro" mode

EA has made something new on the PC-version as well?
Will try it out just for our Belgian 'FIFA-fanboy'.

Nah well, it's hard to judge FIFA really when you don't got a PS3 or XBOX 360. But will download the demo later. My computer will struggle to play it, though.

PES demo comes out tomorrow. Unfortunately doesn't look like there's a lot of difference from the videos. PES looking more and more arcade-like actually - or well, at least not heading towards the right direction with actual simulation - with graphics looking stunning, but I don't give a damn about that. FIFA also looks very arcade-like, both still far away from real football simulation IMO, despite a lot of people saying otherwise.

I put my hopes to FM to give me a really good football game.
