Default Is February the turning point?

* Depor signed Coloccini (23) who already is a starter at the club and his performances next to Andrade are encouraging
* The club signed De Guzmán, who's considered one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga. There aren't many financial risks involved, as he'll come for free
* The team won 1-2 at Valencia and now is at 6 points of a CL spot. If Depor play the remaining months like we're used of them from the previous years, the season can be saved.
* Munúa, who's 7,5 years younger compared to Molina, has been very impressive in the last 3 matches and Depor seem to be guaranteed having another excellent goalkeeper.

But is this really a turning point? Or will we finish this season midtable ?

I would like to discuss this AFTER the RM match...

The both coming matches are so important that I'd like to see us playing every one of the remaining matches this month like last year against Milan at home... that wouldn't hurt for sure....

I really hope so!!

Its going to be tough but the likes of Sevilla, Espanyol, Real Betis and Villareal are not used to challenging for CL places and they will be looking round their shoulders every weekend.

It will be much clearer after the Betis game!
Dont mean to be negative, but a draw would not be to bad, although I am praying for a win!

February has indeed been a very nice month and it looks promising, both the new signings and the results. If we can get three points in the two coming matches (Betis away and Real Madrid at Riazor) we will be in a good position for European games next year. Preferably we'll get these three points by beating RM but this year we're fighting more against Betis than Real Madrid.
After those two matches we'll face Getafe and Albacete, which should mean six points and an opportunity to put pressure on the other teams. It sure looks promising but the next game against Betis might be one of the most important ones this season.

I would say at this point the entire rest of the season needs to be a turning point. Looking at the final table from the last three years, it seems that Depor will need about 62-63 points to reach fourth place. Currently at 32 points with only 15 matches to play, it seems that the squad can only drop an average of one point per match for the remainder of the season. Such a pace doesn't "feel" necessary until one sits down and figures it out. I think the situation is much more urgent than everyone is realizing and results beyond just the next two will be very important. I do think the club can handle it though, if everyone fights hard and cheap draws aren't given away. Remember, there is only one competition left, so everyone should be well rested for the final part of the season.

Whew. I feel like Jabo doing "calculations."

to save season.......we need to win matches........to win matches.........we need to score goals........to score goals ..........we need a good strikre and good playmaker.........u know what is coming.....so i stop here!

I still cant believe we have only one ......not match -fit striker in the whole squad......

It will only be a miracle if we get the 4th spot......

But we can hope......
