It's very conservative yes. But only because of Irureta, it has nothing to do with the players.

we need to be more agressive... we need to believe we can score... well, actually Irureta should "unleash" some players, as some of them play on their own many times (remember Makaay yesterday).
I always said Irureta was conservative and defensive, in spite of the players he puts on the field. He said before the match with R.Madrid that a draw would be good... well, you don't win many titles doing that...
Someone would say "we won all our titles with him; he made Depor what it's now"... false... he took advantage of the infrastructure created by president Lendoiro and the prestige herd from Arsenio Iglesias.
Maybe some of you don't remember, but it was Arsenio who transformed a second-division team into a world-class team... "Super Depor" is Arsenio's invention, with players such as Bebeto, Aldana, Manjarín, Djukic, Alfredo, Claudio (oh! Claudio!). That people won our first Copa, our first trophy ever.
Of course Irureta knows what he's doing, of course he won titles... I just don't like his style. I wouldn't mind to lose if at least we give a grrrreeeaaaat fight!!! I just regret he's not bolder... (he's getting bAlder, alright )
We need to show our teeth! that's when Depor plays! (i.e. Héctor can never ever play in the initial line-up against R.Madrid in the Bernabeu when Víctor is on the bench... that's like saying "lets go to get a point"...) Actually, Irureta said that... and, actually, Víctor was very pissed off after the match.. he didn't want to talk to the journalists...
more attack! more attack! more attack!

Attack is the best thing that the team does (Tristán + Makaay are the best offensive in the Liga) so why doesn`t attack if that is the best thing you can do?

ATTACK of course... if u dont attack u dont score. simple as that.

this may sound a little controversial but, irureta better start going offensive at all times or i'll hope for a more attack-minded coach to come... not to say that i'm ungrateful for all the good matches that jabo managed but if he's gonna be an obstacle in the long run to our strategy and hence prize-winning ability, we have to replace him.

hungry, hungry for goals!!!!!!

I agree, completely
Maybe the club/Irureta should re-think their strategies...
In any case, lets wait 'till the end of the season... see what happens... I really hope Irureta prove us wrong!

yes........no doubt..............in fact DEPOR was one of the finest
attacking team earlier............but this season they chnage
their tactics..........signed ACUNA who is a addition to the
"banch" of def-midfielder............let djalminha go.........did not
find a replacement to Valleron.............everything is paying back

you know how they say, the best defence is the offence, i agree with it, so let's score some more goals even if we concede more !!
we should play with both strikers and don't substitute tristan with valeron, makaay, tristan, valeron has to play in one line up !
Respect Deportivo !

Xoan...........great words pal............great ......i dont like Irreuta
at all..........he is a .............
leave it.......I always believed that players r more important than
coach.........and if they r unhappy...........result will follow.....

Those fans of coach.........here this........Ireuta cost DEPOR lose to
Quterfinal in CL in 2000-01.........while his team playing wonderful
attacking football with 2 striker infront..........he decided to settle
for a draw against Leeds and invite them to attack........DEPOR lost
3-0 and lost CL..........on this season Leeds were nowhere compare
to DEPOR.......but
well i mentioned it earlier..........and i was in past once again last sunday .............same oid strategy ........result 2-0 only.

What can u say...........some people relish being under achiever and
black horse throughout their live.......

Default DEPORTIVO...

So most of you think that the strategy should be more attacking and aggressive... What about the formation (example 4-4-2 or what???) more comments..

depor has a reputation of a dark horse and underdog, and that was what attracted me in the first place... cos i relished the idea of supporting a club in its "growing" phase... transition from an upsetter to a phenomenal consistent team minus the arrogance. so i hope they grow out of the underdog tag as soon as possible.

it's up to the club, coach and players to DECIDE to shake off this tag and strive for consistency and become hungry for goals. i want this club to progress (of course i don't expect it to happen overnight)

that's the whole essence of my signature...

Underachiever? Blackhorse?

Now you know what it's like to be Spanish when it's the world cup.

4-4-2 diamond as in CM. valeron (as AMC) tristan and makaay could play together. as DMC we have many choices depending on the game at hand (like preferring sergio for an attacking strategy). what do you people say?
