Good first half for a team that's playing together for the first time. Fariña showed some excellent finishing skills on the first and great composure on the second goal and is linking up nicely with JD and Luisinho. Cavaleiro showed sparks of his class in the first 15-20 minutes and then disappeared, but he definitely looks like someone who will be very helpful to us. Very quick and powerful.

Although on a couple of instances we showed some mismatches both in defense and attack we are showing things that we haven't seen the entire last season. We're pressing them very early on and as soon as someone wins the ball there are two or three players rushing close to help combine our way through and although far from perfect, we've been quite secure on the ball. When Nacional started sitting back towards the end of the half we did well to calm things down and keep possession. I like it!

Their No. 5 is one of the most annoying players I've seen in a while. Constantly fouling, and then when Toché fouls him once and immediately apologises, he refuses the handshake and deliberately steps on Cavaleiro's foot one minute later.

EDIT: Can't see what you mean about Toché and Alex. Toché didn't have any opportunities but did well applying pressure early on and was quite active in our passing game, rarely failing. Alex came in the phase when we slowed things down and to me didn't do anything wrong, although José Rodríguez showed he's clearly the better player when it comes to vision and passing.

nice quick finish for toche after a quick pass into the box from Luisinho.
Cavaleiro involved in the build up as well and is having a good game i think

I agree toche didnt have many chances so cant judge him too hard. i think he is invisible since he is playing classic point striker while farina does all the work.

he put away his change just now though

We seem to be trying more of a counter approach in the second half. Fariña with three fantastic touches but then the final pass lacks precision.

Fariña still playing?! Now I'm confused

Edit: Guess it was Cavaleiro who went off for Cuenca.

Now Iago for JD and JC for Fariña. As always, all these subs have completely taken the rhythm out of the game for 10 minutes now.

Its only a friendly but I am satisfied with what I saw for the first time in a loooong time. the team looks like it has potential to do ok. still lots of work to be done.

too many subs for the second half to be worth talking about however. Cuenca was good linking with Juan carlos

I only saw the second half

I would say we have a very good middle field with Farina, Quenca, JR and Carvalio ....pretty sure the return of Salamao will add up cause Luisinho is better back

Toche is good and would like to see him staying but we still need a sharp striker

the Defense with not much trouble looks good

Bravo to the players and especially Farina
