It was amazing how the English clubs avoided the more daunting possibilities. Saying that, it should make for a few big casualties in the last 16.

United should advance from their group. One daunting trip to Istanbul over with, wins in Wolfsburg or Moscow would be a bonus. The additional travel doesn't do them any favours, but at least there isn't a trip to Japan in December.

I can't see a third consecutive final for us, simply because it would be too good to be true. Withstanding the collective envy of Europe wouldn't be a problem, not if it meant a third.

Knocking out Real somewhere along the way would probably make it a good year in Europe.

Watching Rangers v Sevilla as Barca v Kiev will probably be beyond boring. Should be interesting.

German grammar + Rangers v Sevilla is boring + boring, but somehow it = OK way to spend 45 minutes.

Judging by the score, Lyon are on their way to trash Debrecen. A tad surprised.

Rangers are so poor it's unbelievable. Four goals made in the right side for Sevilla, three of them crosses that should have been dealt with a lot better.

Great night for wunderkid Pjanic! One assist and one goal tonight! This was his second goal after he scored winner against Fiorentina last round.

EDIT: It was brilliant free-kick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-4kY..._embedded#t=25

EDIT2: My bad, two assists!

AZ lost their lead in the added time Debrecen trashed at home

I'm just happy to see Rubin and Unirea drawing against big boys at home, but still I don't expect them to achieve sth now.

My biggest hopes for tomorrow are APOEL and Wolfsburg.

Who's this Jovetić kid? First goal was pretty good and the second was just lucky. But still, 2 goals says something.

Sevilla and Barca both played well. I really think Sevilla can make at least the semis this year.

Jovetic is regarded as one of the biggest talents in world football now.. he made his debut for FK Partizan at the age of 16 and national team (Montenegro) debut at 17..

Jovetic was Fiorentina's best player during the last part of the previous season.
Usually he comes from bench, but his entrance always improve things.

With whom i'm really impressed, like Philip, is Bosnian Pjanic!! There's a tremendous new generation of attacking players in Bosnia

Yeah, huge talent indeed. I remember him while he was still playing in Partizan. He visited Bosnia once with Partizan, they played UEFA Cup match against Zrinjski few years ago, and they humiliated them. Jovetic was incredible, he kicked them alone.

Ah, don't even mention, it makes me horny There's also another great player - Haris Medunjanin who plays for Valladolid and Dutch U-21 team. He's about to debut for Bosnia these days. If we make it to the World Cup we will have even stronger team by then. Can't wait for the October matches!

Pjanic will make Lyon fans forget about Juninho very soon, if they didn't forget about him already

Gotta hand it to Fiorentina. The pace they played at was phenomenal, simply blowing Liverpool away. Good for the group and good for the competition overall. I think Liverpool could struggle to get out of the group. This year's competition could be the best in years.

Actually I was in Budapest for Debrecen-Lyon just to watch Pjanic, the star of the future, as Philip recommended him here earlier this year, and as I don't care about Debrecen that much. The free-kick was wonderful, his corner-kicks were very good, but in normal plays Swedish int'l Kim Kallström was still better than Miralem. Now the Swede is the key-figure of Lyon.

Within 3 weeks I am gonna see Jovetic as well. I hope he will be fine until then.

Just to irritate the Westerners here: ticket prices are under 10 EUR for Debrecen CL home matches, except for Liverpool match, for that it is (under) 20 EUR.
Rack! Are you interested to come/go to Budapest for Liverpool away match?
