You reckon? Aren't they planning on downgrading it to 60-odd thousand?

Twelve-match ban from the FA to Joey Barton (QPR) & 75,000 Pounds fine

I don't like City, but Barton is an asshole, with what he did at the game.
Really how primitive can you be?

Love the comment on skysport:
"Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke."

This sort of thing makes me chuckle.

Don't get me wrong, I think Barton is a total idiot and have no respect for the guy at all but some of the comments I've read about this story are the reason that the British media can get away with some of their sensationalist crap, because alot of the general public lap it up.

For all we know, Barton could have started it but that's the real point here; we don't know why these 2 blokes attacked him. The only "facts" we know are that 2 blokes attacked him and he was punched in the face but he was able to leave the saituation voluntarily.

We can talk about karma for sure, the guy is an idiot. But can we really add this to his long list of misdemenours without knowing anything?? Seems some people will give it a bloody good try

Very true. It's not exactly outside the realm of possibility that some drunk brutes attack him simply because he is notorious lunatic and nasty punk Joey Barton.

he is a senior footballer and what is he doing in a nightclub at 5:30 AM?
surely it could have been the other guys who started the trouble, but still why does these things happen to him alone?

Doing what senior footballers usually do whenever they have vacation, partying.

This is pure speculation, but isn't possible that the kind of people who's likely to start fights gravitate towards people like Barton, who is a notorious fighter?

Or it's a coincidence, but either way I think it's wrong judging a man on his past actions, especially since those actions makes him as nasty as possible.

Seriously Hari, were those 2 questions asked with a straight face?

Staying out at 5.30am during the season is a big no-no but you can't expect footballers (or anyone else for that matter) to follow the same rules on holiday as they do the night before a matchday.

And as for the 2nd question..if you honestly think that Joey Barton is the only person to be assaulted on a night out in modern day Britain, you are sadly misguided.

It's not like the guy doesn't have alot more things you could pick at if you want to judge him but this just seems to be tabloid sensationalism lapped up by a judgemental public.

i didnt say or mean that he's the only criminal in England.. and as i said last time, why does these things happen with him all the time? there is an equal chance that he could be the trouble maker as the other guy..

I never ever thought you were meaning he was the only criminal in England, especially on this occasion as he was on the receiving end, are we forgetting that?

And yes, he could be the trouble maker. Neither myself or Fabian have said otherwise, we're just pointing out that it's quite possible that on this case, Barton might not be the guilty party. The British media conjure up a bandwagon and roll it down a hill and then watch as judgemental people chase it trying to jump on.

And to be fair Hari, you left a word out of your latest post which makes all the difference in what I responded to.
