Imo Pellegrini can consider himself a little unlucky. He's top of the Liga and went out to a Lyon side that played a really good match (tactically) in Madrid. Yes, up until the Sevilla game, RM had beaten no-one of note. But anyone who has to contend with the CR9 "The Strop Queen" is bound to have it difficult to keep the car between the ditches. Even if RM were 15 points ahead of Barca in the Liga, he was always going to lose his job when they exited CL - the President isn't going to carry the can, is he?

In my opinion it is madness to let Pelegrini go... He is a great coach.

I'd like to see Mourinho at Madrid. I think it would be entertaining And in fact, I think he'd be perfect for Real.

I agree with Pellegrini being fired though. Not that he's a bad coach, but I already saw him making a few terrible tactical decisions this season, on more than one occasion. When you do that in Madrid, sooner or later you'll get the axe. And he lacks the charisma needed to stay alive at the Bernabeu imo.

That's not really the reason why he's (almost) out though, otherwize they would have got rid of him in winter. The real reason is because Florentino is the kind of moron who will keep kicking out every coach season after season until one of them gives him the CL, not really for the football, but for the money and the image.
