Default Congratulations to the catalan club

I have a story to tell
I had an accumulator with
Real Madrid to win
Depor to win
Arsenal to win
Man Utd. to win
Leicester to win
This morning my father put the bet on and £5 collected £45 if all teams won
Earlier today Arsenal Man U and Leicester all won
I thought to myself that with tonights match I couldn't lose if Barcelona draw or win depor's chances increase and if Madrid win I will collect £45.
Credit to Barcelona's performance and I didn't expect them to give Real Madrid a game. Motta played well and so did Luis Enrique and Overmars. Kluivert was SHIT and I don';t know why he is preferred in the dutch team instead of Makaay. Maybe the dutch manager is taking thwe same stuff as the Sevilla fan on this forum.
So I must admit that a part of me wanted Madrid to score a winner and they nearly did. I should slap myself. Anyway at least Depor are getting closer to the elustrious second la liga title.
One time I want Real Madrid to get a late winner and they don't
As Frank Sinatra says
"That's life"

Never bet on R.Madrid!
Anyway, R.M. 1 - Barça 1... Good for us!
We're getting closer... we're getting there... It will be tight, but it will be ours!!!

the draw is perfect for us... i like to see real madrid drop points in the liga, especially points they lose at home

but depor must not get too excited tonight against sevilla. the second title might seem elusive, but only THEY can decide if they want to win it. WE want them to win it, that's for sure. go for it, guys!!

yeah observer agree that it's "compulsory" for depor to win all their remaining matches to stand the best chance possible...

and hope real madrid win against manu again so that the blancos will continue to stay distracted by CL commitments... hence dropping points in the liga. who knows, their key players might even get injured in the heated tie at old trafford...

btw, does anyone know if it will be head-to-head record or goal difference that will determine the liga champion if the top 2 finish level on points?

i understand depor lost the liga narrowly in 93/94 due to goal difference, but now there seems to be a new rule on head-to-head records that is in effect in the CL, but does it apply here for the liga?

so is depor 2nd or third now?

soccernet says second cos depor has a better head to head record than sociedad http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables?...=ESP.1&cc=4716

soccerspain says third cos depor and sociedad and level on goal difference, but sociedad scored more and conceded more http://www.soccer-spain.com/ssdocs/table1.html

Deportivo is 2nd because of head-to-head results. Goal difference is only useful when hth results are the same. That´s the reason we must win the league to madriz with almost one point of difference

Even though we have beaten Sociedad and drawn against them this season and have a better head-to-head record we should be third in the table at present. This is because the head-to-head rule only comes into play at the END of the season. So Yes if it was the end of season yesterday we would be 2nd but it is correct that we should be third because of goaldifference.
If Depor, Sociedad and Real Madrid finish on same points a mini table is computed to find the winner of la liga.
_____________Pld__W__D___L__GF_GA___Pts___________ ____
Real Sociedad__4____1__2___1__6__5____5________________
Real Madrid____4____1__2___1__4__4____5________________ _
Deportivo_____4____1__2___1__3___4___5____________ _____

The Basques would become Champions for the first time since the early 80's well at least it wouldn't be Madrid!!!

It reminds me a lot of rock ,scissors and paper
If Depor and La real finish level on points depor will be champs.
If Depor and Madrid finish level on points Madrid will be champs.
If La real and Madrid finish level on points La Real will be champs.

That means Depor is rock Sociedad is Scissors and Real Madrid is paper. The difference is if all meet then scissors is victorious!!!

depor_thru_n_thru, that's an interesting analogy

thanks guys, i hope depor doesnt give us a heart attack this season with the points... but it would all be worth it if we come away as liga champs

Yes this is true... so if we don't lose points to Sociedad we will be above them at the end of the season...
