Default 1 May: Deportivo - Real Madrid (Pre-game discussion)

A question to all of you. Should we play with bench players?, or should we play with our "star" formation?, what about a combination?

What is more important: a victory against Madrid or the game with Porto? Should be go for both things?

see, if we had been just a little more solid in la liga we could have still been up there chasing for the title....then we would have had this match and a perfect chance to catch up.

anyway, i reckon you have to play your full strength team. how unfair would that be to all the other teams in the league? particularly valencia and barcelona.

i hope we make an effort to win this game. i also hope no depor players nobble beckham.

i think we should use our usual formation in 1st half
and we can substitute them in 2nd half
but i think we must play with djalminha and hector from the start since valeron and MP has to play for international
so it maybe good for them to have a rest

Yep, I agree, no subs. Maybe later in the game, but the first haf play with our normal squad. A win against Real is always nice

It's sad that so magnificent game which is Depor-Real solves almost nothing for Deportivo in this liga competition. But this year we have another reason to be glad and proud - it's CL triumph. So I think that forthcoming match should be considered only as a preparation at highest level to decisive battle with Porto at Riazor. To my opinion Depor should start with its "star" formation which then to be replaced by bench players in the second half. Also taking into account suspension of Andrade and Mauro Silva, they must be considered as bench players for this time.

they will properly only play a half in this game so it should not be any problem. I think that Jabo will do alittle of both. He will rest a few players but only the ones who are in danger of being i bad shape to the game against Porto.

I think if a player feels just a little bit tired he should rest.
The match against Real Madrid means nothing but honour. And if we lose we'll take that honour back by beating Porto and qualify for the Champions League final where the TWO BEST CLUBS IN EUROPE play.

So why take risks? There's NO chance that we'll win La Liga and it even looks tough to place third. And it's 10 points down to Athletic Bilbao. We don't need to win against Real Madrid.

Valerón and Manuel Pablo should definately rest. Mauro Silva and Andrade(probably) should definately play.

I'd choose this starting eleven:

---------------------Munúa-----------------------
Héctor---Pablo Amo--Andrade---Capdevila
-------------Duscher----Mauro Silva-----------
Scaloni-----------Djalminha---------------Fran
----------------------Tristán-----------------------

Scaloni if he's fit to play of course.
As you see there are almost only reserves but it's still a very good team still capable to beat Real Madrid. It'd also be nice to see Pablo Amo and Andrade play together. They're our future.
Capdevila is almost as good as Romero and Héctor is also good if he's on top.
We all know that Scaloni, Fran, Djalma and Tristán are very good.
And Duscher needs to play matches before the important match against Porto.
I'd play with César too but as he's selected in the Spain squad against Italy and also injured he better rest.

I think we should play without Andrade and Mauro Silva against Real Madrid.Coz this is a very good chance to see what our defence do without them.

Well I feel that we are going to win this match. They are very stresful thesedays and if we can play carefully,we´ll beat Real

Porto Must come 1st!

If Madrid are to have a chance @ La Liga title they will play to win & it will be a big match, So Depor can be forgiven for not fielding a full squad.

Madrid are fighting for the title desperately to avoid a catastrophic season, and Irureta will have to make a difficult decision about this match. Depor cannot beat Madrid with the bench players, and playing against Real would probably weaken the players before the Porto match. I think the Porto match is more important right now, and to be honest, much easier then the Madrid match. So let the bench play, and maybe we even get lucky. Djalminha, Tristan and Fran can still cause a lot of danger.

I also think that we should give some rest to those who are playing for their national teams. Apart from that the regulars should play, so they don't lose rythm. The Porto game is far more important right now. Honestly, I expect RM game to be a "rehersal"... just as Irureta did with Betis before the Milan game. Whatever the result, I wouldn't give it much attention, I'd rather focus on how we play.
And just don't get injured for f**ks sake!!!

You know who will be the referee? Julián Rodríguez Santiago
The same referee of the first game in Bernabeu, the same who invalidated the goal of Luque...coincidence?

Damn! I guess Real will have one more player in this match. The same as always...
I just hope that we will have better referee for return match with Porto than this dumb Merk.
