Default Champions League/Europa League (2016/2017)

Vamos Dundalk! Massive result. First ever win for an Irish team in the group stage of a European competition.

Great news for us last night. Dortmund's 8v4 victory over Legia Warsaw means that we no longer feature as the losing side in the highest scoring game in the Champions League.

Now we can finally put to rest the ghost of that 8-3 defeat to Monaco

Perhaps, but we're still the bigger loser as we managed 3 goals while they did 4

I think there have been a couple of 8-0 games in the Champions League, so the losers in those games can take that title

Malmo and Besiktas were the teams I think but not 100% sure

Exactly, biggest wins in Champions were 8-0, Liverpool v Besiktas (07/08) and Madrid v Malmö (15/16).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe...s#Biggest_wins

Most goals in a Champions match were 11 goals, 8-3, Mónaco vs Depor, and now the record goes to Borussia Dortmund vs Legia Warsaw 8-4 (12 goals)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe...als_in_a_match

We still featuring in the Champions "book of records", sometimes for bad:

Fewest goals scored in a group stage: 0 , Deportivo (04/05), Maccabi Haifa (09/10)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe..._stage_records

but also sometimes for good:

We finished the longest home undefeated run, held by Bayern Munich, 31 games until they loss 2-3 to Deportivo (02/03)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe...undefeated_run

We also appear with the record of the biggest comeback, with our (1-4),4-0 to Milan being the last of the biggest comebacks in Champions.

What about comeback in one game? Our 4-3 win over PSG was from 3-0 down I think. Anyone comeback from more than 3 goals down?

Could be! We were 0-3 down at minute 55 and finally won 4-3. What a game, I'll never forget it. Also the biggest day of a young Pandiani, who had entered in the 2nd half and scored a hattrick. I remember him crying after scoring the last goal.

I bacame a fan of Deportivo after the game vs PSG (4:3) I wish You didnt see BVB vs Legia - one of the greatest game I ever saw. Non stop attack, pressure, wild hearts - Its the best in futbol I think. No playing chess, without calculations. Simply pure futbol. Legia vs Real 3:3, BVB vs Legia 8:4

Lucas Pérez just scoring his first goal in Champions

And now the 2nd only a few minutes later!

And the 3rd at the beginning of the 2nd half! Hattrick!!!

FT

Definitely a night to remember for Lucas, and a night to forget for Fabricio in Kiev, after receiving 6 goals.

Contrasting fortunes for both ex Depor players last night. So happy for Lucas

Even after scoring three goals, Lucas struggled to crack a smile.
Its still early days, but maybe he is not happy there.

Either way congratulations to him.
