Default LIGA | Oct-30-2017 | matchday 10 |Las Palmas 1-3 Depor | Post Match Comments

A victory against a poor Las Palmas side, who took the lead when Remy slotted through Pantillimon's legs at the near post in the 8th minute.

Depor then came into the game but their build up was always slow. Borges then equalised with a header in the 36th minute and Lizouin was the busier of the keepers.

Depor took the lead in the 54th minute when Borges scored his 2nd header and then after Lemos pulled down Cartabia in the 69th minute, Lucas converted the penalty.

Depor dominated the 2nd half and it was much more encouraging although Las Palmas looked like a side that had no belief. Lizouin was probably their best player and for Depor, Cartabia and Borges put in great performances

great to finally win.. Cartabia is doing very well, Bakkali is improving steadily and Lucas looked tired.. I don't judge the team by this win since Las Palmas played with zero confidence..

So happy with a win

My notes would be:

Pants is a joke
Cartabia is outstanding
The midfield did a good job contributing the ball around.
Brave by parralo that he held the high pressure by 2-1 and even with the 3-1.
Victor Fernandez would have subbed 3 offensive players for 3 defensive and try to hold on to the lead the last 30min.

Vamos depor 😊💪

That goal of theirs was an invitation by our keeper. Never saw a keeper with such space between his legs

That guy is very tall, might be one of the reasons
Damn it a car could pass through there...

How this team won 4-1 at Riazor.. They are even worst than us.. I rarely see a team with such a low confidence and belief.
Cartabia excellent as well as Borges. Bravo.
Lucas can't relax to play his game..he carries a huge burden..if continues with this anxiety he will fail.

Great result and best game this season
-The coach touches is very visible, the team plays intensely with no mistakes in the sensitive areas, big improvement compared to Mel era.
-Panti has good confidence and deserves to be starter for the whole season.
-Bakkali improved and was great yesterday.
-Cartabia is our golden boy
-I see glimpse of the old good Sidnie.
-Midfield played very well
-Lucas did nothing and I wonder why he was not replaced by Andone.
-Cristobal should find a way to utilize Andone and Colak, we should not lose their value.

1- I am glad it was Pantillimon who made that mistake and not Fabris. Everyone of us would have blamed him for his inexperience, but with Pantillimon... What we know for sure is Tyton is never playing another game with Depor ever...
2- Guilerme did a little better in the distribution of the game
3- Borges work defensively is a joke as he is not very good at it. I did notice that this game he went into the box every chance he had, with Valverde sticking in midfield to cover for him
4- I believe we will agree that Cartabia is our best player this season, by faaaar
5- A Tonideportivo mentioned, Lucas' anxiety and trying to prove that he is a top player is getting to him. He makes so many wrong decisions with the ball, ironically that was the case with Cartabia a couple seasons ago

Now let's see if we can surprive Atletico, or at least get a point.

The funny thing is I am so used to commenting after every match that the coach should be fired that I actually have no idea what to say in a situation where the team is doing well

What a difference a victory makes!
We have some tough fixtures ahead, so it was important to secure these 3 points. It was not a great 1st half performance and there is still much work to be done.
- We need Ruben back
- We need Mosquera back
- Bakali is too greedy, I would prefer to see Lucas in his place
- Cartabia is currently our best player
- I want to see Andone up front

As everyone says, HUGE victory to put ourselves 5 points out of relegation and big lead in the goal average against a direct rival.

We finally saw the team play with clear idea. Parralos' philosophy is slowly showing. The team has a high line pressuring uptop to recover the ball quickly and in a dangerous position. The only thing that needs improvements is the transition from attack to defense. They caught us with our pants down on the first goal. We need to stop all these attacks that come in from the wing.

-Borges man of the match with his 2 goals.
-Fede was in beast mode again.
-Bakkali played well, but I would like to see a top 3 of:
Fede----Andone-----Lucas
-Andone is a perfect fit for the forward that pressures constantly. And Lucas and Fede would do the same on the wings.

Lucas put away the PK and dished a great corner, but we need more from him. The Lucas that was the predator in the rival's box still isn't here. I think he needs to be more daring on the one on ones he faces on the wings.

Great win regardless and huge for morale leading up to Atletico.
