Default When will we celebrate the promotion? (predictions, views)

In the euphoria of the day, I think we could start such a superficial thread about when do we calculate to celebrate the promotion.

Ok, football is football, everything can happen, but who does actually give any chance to not achieving the promotion after the Vigo triumph?
Anyone really?

So, here we go. The possible scenarios are like this:
(date, rival, difference in pts we should have with 3rd place, after the exact matchday)

6/5 Deportivo-Valladolid 19
13/5 Numancia- Deportivo 16
16/5 Deportivo-Las Palmas 13
20/5 Xerez- Deportivo 10
23/5 Gimnastic-Deportivo 7
27/5 Deportivo-Huesca 4
3/6 Villarreal B-Deportivo 1

I think, the most probable scenarios are the away games, at our friends of Xerez, or Tarragona.

Although these types of thread maked me slightly uncomfortable (because it's like tempting karma to bite you in the ass), I'm going to throw myself into the question lol.

There are still plenty of games left and anyone in the top half could still be capable of crashing the top 2/3 places but it's more likely that 2 of the current top 3 will fight it out for the promotion.

I have a feeling that we may have to wait until the home game with Huesca to be confirmed as promoted but it may also be the same day we are confirmed as Champions.

I also think that this question will be alot easier to answer after the Valladollid game on 5th May

If we don't finish top 2 now, it's all George's fault

It would at least solve the clubs financial troubles as they can start selling dart boards with ggorgeous ggeorg's face on them.

I say that, if we defeat Valladolid, we are going to celebrate the promotion at home facing Las Palmas. If not, it will be visiting Xérez, but never after the clash Vs. Nástic.

i'd say, it's too early to be sure. Riki is out for a month or so, that will cost us points.

Seriously, someone should just delete this thread, its a proven scientific fact that fans comments have the ability to jinx the teams they support.

So many negative vibes!!!

It’s between ourselves, Celta and Valladolid – here are the remaining fixtures for our rivals

Valladolid
Villarreal B (a)
Cartagena (h)
Depor (a)
Hercules (h)
Barca B (a)
Sabadell (h)
Recre (h)
Alcorcon (a)
Guadaljara (h)

Celta*
Hercules (a)
Barca B (h)
Sabadell (a)
Alcorcon (h)
Guadalajara (a)
Alcoyano (h)
Xerex (h)
Nastic (a)
Cordoba (h)
* plus last minutes of fixture away to Cartagena

Both our rivals have 5 home games left, we have 4
There is one direct confrontation (Depor-Valladolid) – this favours Celta.

Valladolid have the easier remaining fixtures. Except for back-to-back games against Depor & Hercules and the away fixture against Alcorcon on the penultimate match day, all their other games are winnable. We MUST beat them in the Riazor. I see them getting 20 more points, which means we need 13 to finish ahead of them.

I’m handing Celta victory over Cartagena, so the gap between us is 7 points. They have a tough trip this week to Hercules and I think they’ll draw that fixture. All their home games are against their toughest remaining opponents which helps them tremendously, but I’ll err on the side of caution and award them a generous total of 21 points from the last 27, which means that we’ll need 14 more points to finish above them (with our better head-to-head record).

So, we need 14 more points. Wins over Elche, Las Palmas and Huesca in the Riazor, plus 2 more on the road against Numancia/Xerex/Nastic will get us there. The real do-or-die game however is now the game against Valladolid. If we can win that, we’re as good as home.

I’m inclined to agree with Rik that the Huesca game will be the one, but I’m hoping it will come against Xerex or Nastic.

Winning 5 games will quite certainly give us first place. If those 5 wins include a win against Valladolid, that means Valladolid would have to win all 8 of their other games to finish in front of us. Meanwhile, Celta should score 26 points out of 30. Considering how things are going for them right now, that seems quite difficult. If we beat Elche this weekend, and they lose at Hercules, we don't have to worry about them anymore.

I'd say that there's even a great chance 12 points would be enough. That brings us up to 84. Again, if that includes a win against Valladolid, then Valladolid would need 21 points out of 24, while Celta would need 23 out of 30. This would mean that Valladolid needs to lose points in two of their 8 games. That's actually something I'm not too sure about, but it's still very plausible. Celta could also reach their mark, but again I'm not too sure about it. I can see one of these two teams catching us with 84 points, but both of them? Probably not. Still though, I want that first place, finishing second would come as a minor disappointment to me.

So in my opinion, 13 more points is what we need to get the first place, as long as we beat Valladolid. With 85 points, Valladolid needs 22 to get past us, so a single loss and they're done. Celta would need 24, can't see that happening with things going like they're going now.

I'd say we could know a lot more after this weekend. Both Celta and Valladolid have tricky visits to Hercules and Villarreal B. If they drop points this weekend and we beat Elche at home, promotion seems impossible to miss.

every match day we r closer to promotion than before... i would be very happy if we do it as soon as possible so we will have more time to sign some free players 4 primera & to renew some of our key players like Lassad Colotto.

we still have very tough 3 games in the next weeks after Valladolid the picture will more clear.
