I read on our facebook page that
According to Radio Cadena COPE, Pedro Mosquera refused the offer of Valencia and will renew with Deportivo. Valencia were quadrupling his wages, but the player prefers to stay in A Coruna.

Must be a worldwide phenomenon, the most important players rate higher the love for the club than money

I hope Lendoiro watches this. Those players (Lucas and Mosquera) were out there, even in his time. But he rather made us a stock-house of the worst ever Portuguese players (on loan).

Pedro has restored my faith in footballers. Not all are money hungry scumbags. I think it's clear that Pedro has put his foot down and demanded to stay because from what I've read his wanker agent was pushing him towards Valencia.

As you and ggeorg have said, this is huge. For once we have a player who shuns the financial incentives to make a stand for what he really feels in his heart. I'm sure Lucas would do the exact same thing. This is THE best example to boost all the Depor family that roots and a sense of belonging actually matter more than €'s. Ok, these two players might eventually leave, but as Lucas said in his interview - it willl only be for the benefit of the club first and foremost. Respect to you Pedro.

Some ten years back (damn, how time flies ) a huge part of our pena went for the Depor-Madrid game (the trip, that stayed in the memories for legend Peter traveling by car ).
I remember before the game, we would check La Voz and you could sense that one of of the main issues of the game was how the super-prospect Corunese boy was coming to town as a rival.

Pellegrini ordered Mosquera to enter the game during the injury time, but unfortunately the ref finished the game, before him entering the Riazor.

Since then i had high hopes that once he will come back to his home town, that eventually happened, but i think that in the long term the "settling" part of this move was stronger to the hunger to get proved for his people (like Lucas).

He felt comfortable at home, but he lost desire to overcome himself, eventually becoming just one more average player.

Unfortunately he won't be missed (much).

Good luck

PS: One another note, even though we have compiled a team with very low budget, we are still missing local lads. Celta has 10 (!!!) home-grown guys, at primera (!!!)
