sevilla are back in the race for lucas....especially if they sell gameiro to atletico which seems very close....so lucas is their main target to be the new striker

I've said it earlier but Tino did a great job with this signing. If Lucas leaves, there is no panic since we already have his replacement in Andone. I think this signing along with other rumors from abroad show that Depor are prepared to let Lucas go for a reasonable offer. If he doesn't, Andone can continue to grow as a player this season and make his full impact next season. There are no sure things in the transfer market but I have to say I'm very excited to see him at Riazor for the next few seasons.

Me too, We havent had a proper striker staking his claim to the throne since Tristan left. I really hope he goes on to score many goals for us over the next few years.

with this coach, I don't see an offensive success although we have great guns up front

remember this guy likes defensive tactics

actually we had Ruben Castro for several years... I can just hope, we don't screw up ourselves with Andone like we did the Betis-legend.

I liked Ruben, but we only really gave him one season, where we didnt really play to his strengths, similar with Omar Bravo really. So these two never really banged in the goals.

Good luck to Andone.

I welcome my country man to Deportivo!

He is not as good as Lucas, but hopefully he can improve fast, as he is already familiar to Spanish football.

Is Andone popular in Romania? I mean he never played club-football at home, so people might not really know him too much.

Andone came to Spain with his family as a child. Andone has not played football in Romania , is not quite so popular.
He is a talented player and hardworking but do not have great expectations from him.

There was a certain hype in Romania before Euro in regards to this player and quite high expectations considering that Romania has low profile attackers now, so he was seen as a possible solution thanks to his decent statistics during last season. Unfortunately for everyone his performance was similar to the rest of the Romanian national team, he was kept for a total of less than 90 minutes on the field during the entire competition (from total of 3 games in the groups) and had no relevant impact.

@Barzote Salut!

For me the top Romanian striker is Keseru. he played in France and then exploded back in Romania with Steaua, also with immpresive performances in Europe. Then he went for the money in Qatar, but is again making impact back in Europe at Ludogorec.

It was a big surprise for me to see Andone starting ahead of him in the Romania-France opener. He only played 6 games for Romania before. That means that his quality is noticed. But you have to be reaslistic as well - Stade de France, Euro, against France - not an easy venue for a young inexpirienced player to shine. He has a potential to grow, let's hope we made the correct bet.

The more is see from him the more he reminds me of Xisco. He fights a lot, he is quite strong, i can imagine him being pretty good for segunda level but he misses that extra edge that a primera striker requires.
At his first goal today he set his body nicely to take advantage over the defender but his finishing was very poor.
