Default 11.08.2004 - CL - Shelbourne-Deportivo (Post match comments)

So we didn't leak a goal, but also lost too many clear opportunities... Luque had a bad day.... did one cross of his crosses arrive where it should?? How many Freekicks were lost from our side?

Shelbourne was like expected: Fouling a LOT and playing very hard but also dangerous from time to time in front of our goal ...

We need to score more than them in Riazor, and I think this is possible ... with a bit more playing like the during the first 20 Minutes of the second half.... too bad Munitis missed his chance, but it also was his only one during the second half.... not enough I think for the fresh attacker during one halftime....

waddayou think?

A result that was expected... don't worry though, as our first display last season (0-0 at Rosenborg...) also wasn't a fine one....

i will agree that Depor did not play up to your standards but really come on guys do you really think Shelbourne have any chance of scoring at all? i dont think so but Shels will be happy with a draw home and away!

congratulations to all Shelbourne fans, your team showed why they reach this round.

It should be a different history in Riazor, we will have Tristán and Fran for that time, Rúben couldn't participate because of the injury of Molina, i'm sure that he could have a chance on the next time.

By winning our league! what did ye do to get here?

We can still do it, im confident, all we nedd is 1 goal & ye are in trouble, if we cant get that goal, there's always penos.

Was at the match tonight. it was a very entertaining game for 0-0.
The crowd was brilliant and one of your players even stated that after the match. The atmosphere was better than the ireland games and your players got no support at all.

i still think deportivo will go through as i still remember the ac milan match but if shels score first you lot are in trouble

Overall shels played a good match and deportivo were disapointing but imo the tie is still open and the second leg with a bit a luck will be a real nail biter for both sets of supporters.

com on shels.

Oh God Oh God Oh God Just like Rosenborg last season...I don't want to sound overconfident but I do believe we'll make it thru at the Riazor.

While it wasn't a great result, it's not a bad one. I think we tend to be too defensive on the road (during matches in Europe), hoping that we can beat them rather easily at home. Well we just have to look at our record last year during the Champions League at home. I believe we only gave up one goal at home, which was that penalty kick ........Anyway like other people have mentioned this seems to mirror the Rosenborg tie from a year ago. Getting them back to the Riazor should be good for us.

I still don't understand why irureta didn't put Ruben in the dying minutes of the game, why.
