Default Deportivo v Villarreal 16-09-2006 (Post Match Comments)

2-0 and even better, it was a good performance too.

Great game from all our boys with plenty of passion.

Aouate made some great saves to make sure justice was done as we were the better team on the night. The defence battled well and Capdevila even showed the forwards how to put the ball in the net.

Colo, Sergio and Duscher were like terriers in the middle fighting for any loose ball and breaking up anything near them. Riki worked really hard and was kicked up in the air more than anyone and impressed me with a few individual moments. Arizmendi worked harder than I've seen him work before and was a pain to them at the end with his pacy counters.

Christian worked hard too and didn't look like he was overawed by anything. Some good moments from him but for workrate Juan Rodriguez impressed me the most as he seeed to cover every blade of grass.

Felipe didn't get too long but looked fairly confident and overall, this game along with what I saw from the Teresa Herrera gives me great hope for the season

Great match, and most importantly a great result. What made this match even better for us, was that we played very well, and it was a fully deserved victory.

Colo played a fantastic first half, but I didn't see him that much in 2nd half.

Cristian was also doing awesome. He was showing a lot of his technical abilities, and i really think this is his best Depor match.

Capdevila score 2 goals. He didn't just score 2 goals, he also played very well besides them.

VAMOS BABYDEPOR!!

What a great match! This is the best performance I've seen from Depor since the 3-1 home win against R. Madrid last year.

The defense looks quite solid and Coloccini is great in midfield, he should definitely be a regular starter with Duscher next to him.
Unlike most of the others I'm not really impressed with Juan Rodríguez, he does work a lot but simply lacks the skills, he's not very helpful offensively. Cristian and Riki both did a good job, although they were not that active anymore in the second half.
Arizmendi is awful though. He did have one or two good scenes right after the begin of the second half, but after that he continued just as bad as in the first half. Estoyanoff seemed to have a good technique but he didn't play long enough to rate him, same goes for Filipe.
Oh, and Villarreal seemed to care more about kicking our boys than scoring some goals

EDIT: Forgot to mention Aouate: He made some good saves, but looked very very bad in two situations.

I was impressed how Lolo stayed so calm after Arruabarena hit him 3-4 times in 1 minute....

Thanks for the pics Fire_Bro!
