Default LIGA: 22 April 2007: Deportivo - Osasuna (pre-game comments)

The visits of Osasuna to Riazor:

1953-1954 ---> DEPOR 1 -- OSASUNA 0
1956-1957 ---> DEPOR 3 -- OSASUNA 1
1962-1963 ---> DEPOR 3 -- OSASUNA 1
1991-1992 ---> DEPOR 0 -- OSASUNA 0
1992-1993 ---> DEPOR 2 -- OSASUNA 1
1993-1994 ---> DEPOR 3 -- OSASUNA 1
2000-2001 ---> DEPOR 2 -- OSASUNA 1
2001-2002 ---> DEPOR 5 -- OSASUNA 1
2002-2003 ---> DEPOR 1 -- OSASUNA 1
2003-2004 ---> DEPOR 2 -- OSASUNA 0
2004-2005 ---> DEPOR 1 -- OSASUNA 3
2005-2006 ---> DEPOR 0 -- OSASUNA 1

I don't fear Osasuna, but I am affraid that our players won't be at their best after the defeat with Sevilla.

I think we'll lose this one. The team just isn't capable of scoring, and when Crapa is on the bench, then we will definitely lose.

But I hope i'm wrong...

a fine 0-0 will it be, or maybe we win with an own-goal, or at least Adrian scores.

id have adrian on instead of riki and iago/verdu instead of duscher, we CAN WIN, and should try and win, if the teams mentallity is to defend and get an odd goal well then we should be in the Serie A we are in La Liga we are a team with one of the best recent histories in Spain and Europe its time the players were given some beleif in themselves and were given a chance to try and win games not let the other team lose games....just my pennies worth.

Good to see Riki in the starting 11. We better win this one, because it will provide some morale after the heavy loss against Sevilla...

I'd also put on Adrian again, with Arizmendi on the bench. Riki isn't good lately, but what has Arizmendi been doing lately? Not much.

I have another interesting question Sevilla-Barcelona will be the Copa final, no doubt about that. So, according to some people in the forum, the seventh place will be a Uefa spot. As a consequence, the Intertoto spots will be 8, 9, 10 and 11, if I'm not mistaking. So if the competition would end now, Deportivo would be occupying the Intertoto-spot, right?

I don't really like the idea of Intertoto, but it's totally different than last time we entered it. And personally, I don't want this season to be yet another complete waste.

For Christ's Sake! Stop inventing things
The UEFA rules says that if that happens, the place in the UEFA cup goes to the 7th place. The Intertoto STILLS the same, you must be inscribed and also end between the 8th and the 10th place in order to qualiy.

Are you sure?

Article 1.04 Associations are entitled to enter only top-division clubs that, in principle, finish their domestic championship in the four positions immediately below those that qualify for the UEFA Cup, and that have indicated their willingness to take part in the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

If the seventh place in the table is also a Uefa spot, the four positions immediately below that are 8, 9, 10 and 11

I love to be a pain in the ass
