Default 20-05-2007 Deportivo 1v2 Sevilla La Liga (Post Match Comments)

This was the closest game we had with Sevilla out of the 4 that we played this year but I still can't help feeling really frustrated.

We did what we couldnt do in the previous 3 games and actually scored a goal against them, thanks to a brilliant volley from Bodipo as he connected with Felipe's cross. Unfortunately, thay joy only lasted 4 minutes as Renato headed in from just a few yards out with Aouate caught daydreaming. (maybe he was in still in shock because we were winning)

Then just to rub salt in our wounds, Kanoute scores from a corner that should never have been as Colo quite clearly played the ball against Duda, so we should have had a goal kick. We still weren't great but we weren't as crap as the 3 other games played against Sevilla and this was a brilliant chance to beat them. We should have taken advantage of their tiredness but we seemed to lack ambition and belief in going forward and in the end we got nothing.

Dissapointed again but at least we managed to have a couple of shots and Bodipo's comeback is coming on nicely.

Damn
Not a bad performance but...
The only positive thing about this match is Bodipo's goal...

filipe played very well i think, much more versitile than "Fester the one dimensional player". Bodipo will have to start games, and we have to shake of this stupid 2 pivotes formation and go to a clear 4-4-2, playing sergio as a pivote is like playing with 10 men.
Well lets hope capa gets the boot in the coming days

What a shame. Of course Sevilla is a better team now but for the first time in the season, Depor tried to play football and actually score. Crazy decisions by Capa (min13, Filipe for Riki, striker-defender) and the second goal from a corner that didn't exist. I see small improvement but bigger things have to change. Every day Capa stays in the club is a day less for the regeneration of the club.

Good for Bodipo, I'd like to see the goal. I've seen the goal practicing this kind of shooting in the training sessions, so I guess he deserves our respect.

I'm just shocked Caparros didn't substitute Bodipo after his goal

haha! I thought it too... Maybe he knew that we'd concede 2 goals before the match ?

This was a really good second half, but at the end it hurted as the previous games against Sevilla. We were better till Bodipo's brilliant goal, but after that we reacted as a small and unexperienced team...No calm, no concentration, we didn't know how to manage the fact that we were so close to beat Sevilla. Finally we got what we deserved... 30 minutes of good footbal is not enough to beat a team like Sevilla.

But there are two positive facts. The first is that we played at least 30 minutes of quality football and the second is that we finally saw a classic "striker's" goal

And I'm hating Sevilla more and more.
They play good football, but at the end of the day it's all build on the mafia practices of Sevilla's president, even more corrupt and stupid that Lendoiro.

Right now, I'd have doubts to choose a winner for the Liga between Madrid and Sevilla.

Heartbreaking loss, we did so well up to Bodipo's great goal (Finally a striker scores!!!). I think Capa made a HUGE mistake in taking out Estoyanoff for Bodipo, Lolo was involved in every single play up to that point and was playing extremely well. Capa should have brought in Bodipo for Arifuera, he absolutely sucked!, again. I don't know why he starts, I wish there was a logical explanation but I just can't seem to find it.
* I blame Capdevila for the first goal, if he didn't drop to the floor making a shove by Navarro more than it was, Sevilla wouldn't have re-taken the freekick that lead to the goal

The only positive aspects of the game were that we actually competed with Sevilla and it wasn't a blowout. Colo was Fantastic, 10/10 IMO. And Bodipo scored in his return, and a fine goal at that.

About the second goal: was it a corner or a freekick? What happened there?
