Default LIGA: Wed 26.09.2007 Deportivo Vs Recreativo (pre-match comments)

This match is on Wednesday at the Riazor.
Only two home games against Recre in first division:

2002-2003 ---> DEPOR 5 -- RECREATIVO 0
2006-2007 ---> DEPOR 2 -- RECREATIVO 5

The question is: who will score 5 goals this time? Depor or Recre?

If both teams manage 5 between them, I'll be amazed

With a win we could have a good seasonstart.. with a loss we will be in the relegationzone again... so I say Depor should win this one

We must win against lower class teams like Bilbao,Levante,Mallorca etc. to achieve a good spot. This match is no different. So let's win this !

If the same pattern in the results of the last 2 years continues, we will win 5-4

... Or -1 - 10.

But I hope you are right.

Anyway, we gotta win this one - and I'm sure we will. Got a great feeling about this game.

Default Recreativo is beatable....

We have to remember that Recreativo is coming off a win againts Espanyol. This will surely give them some confidence. Depor needs to work hard this week. They have a couple of loose ends they need to tie up in their attack. Recreativo is beatable though. They are no Barcelona or R Madrid. We can do it.

This is not going to be easy, but no match will be easy to Depor this season. Again this is one of the mid-table matches and, especially at home, the more we win them the higher chances we have of achieving something important this season.

The first matches now have been played and the standings are taking shape. A match such as this one will decide Depor's near future possibly until the end of the year. If we win, this boost could keep us up among the first 10. But losing at home against a team like Recre will mean a very difficult first part of the season as doubts will return.

But contrary to last year we now have more creativity in the team with Guardado, reborn Riki, Verdú much better than last year etc. This means we have more opportunities to decide deadlocked matches, like this could be.

Default There is nothing to fear, except fear itself....

I really hope the Depor players understand the quote I just put on the title. I also hope they understand that they are good enough to beat anyone, but first they have to believe in it. Then everything else will just fall into place. Including wins and goals. The only thing this team needs is a little confidence. Once that is achieved they will be able to stand on the field and compete with anyone. I truly believe that. A leader needs to emerge from the starting eleven to input this type of mentality into the rest of the squad. This needs to happen sooner rather than later.

Recar is a tough team...i used to be scare facing them (frankly because Uchy)

in this game the team must be creative up-front and solid in the defence
----------
i have doubts about barragan because one of the papers say that he opens some unneccessary spaces -that the rival coudl use to crack our defence- !!

Default Mixing things up a bit...

The coach should try changing the left and right wingers periodically through out the game against Recre. I know that it can't compare, but Guardado is used to that on the Mexican national team. It usually works out very well because it confuses the hell out the left backs when attacking. One minute it's Guardado the next the other winger. It might work, or it might not. But it would be something different-dynamic. The team needs something to jump start the attack.
