Default LIGA: 11-11-2007 Deportivo v Racing Santander (Pre Match Comments)

After the great win last weekend, we can look forward to playing Racing at home. Last year, we failed to beat a Racing club that finished with 9 men and have only beaten them twice at the Riazor in the last 8 seasons but we must search for the victory this Sunday.

It won't be an easy game though, especially as Racing have picked up more points away from home (6) than we have at home (4).

Last 15 games at Riazor:

1953-1954 - Deportivo 4v2 Racing
1954-1955 - Deportivo 3v1 Racing
1993-1994 - Deportivo 1v0 Racing
1994-1995 - Deportivo 3v0 Racing

1995-1996 - Deportivo 2v3 Racing
1996-1997 - Deportivo 2v1 Racing
1997-1998 - Deportivo 4v1 Racing

1998-1999 - Deportivo 1v2 Racing
1999-2000 - Deportivo 0v3 Racing

2000-2001 - Deportivo 2v1 Racing
2002-2003 - Deportivo 0v2 Racing
2003-2004 - Deportivo 1v1 Racing
2004-2005 - Deportivo 1v4 Racing
2005-2006 - Deportivo 2v0 Racing
2006-2007 - Deportivo 0v0 Racing

One of the few Primera teams I actually like, and they seem immune to relegation, having flirted with it forever.

Should be interesting..

Any point from this game, and I'll be satisfied.
It is against Bilbao and Osasuna we must win - anything here will be a bonus.

However, after the game against Murcia, the confidence should be high, and we have a decent chance for at least one point.

Think we will be troubled again - when we cannot rely on counter attacks... Away form is gonna save us this season

Great point.

Both goals yesterday were from counter attacks, where the opposition defence had pushed right up but I doubt Racing will push so high up the field at the Riazor. We definately struggle to break teams down that sit back as we showed against 10 man Mallorca last week and of course Racings 9 men last year.

I can see a draw as quite likely but an early goal to either side will probably be crucial. If we get it, they will have to come forward a bit more and will hopefully leave gaps but if they get an early goal, it could be a long frustrating afternoon for us.

I think we will use the victory over Murcia to get the wheels turning and predict an easy win here. A 3-0 is what I'm predicting, Forza DEPOR!!!

This game is very winable. I think the squad will have some confidence that will stem from the last game. We can do it!!!

Where is he supposed to play?! At moment he can just fight for a place on rigght wing with Lafita, Cristian, an JR. There is no place for him in the other positions...at the moment. Xisco is scoring, Guardado is incredible, Verdu very good...

I hope for a win, but I think it can be another 0:0. I won't even think about lose! We are on good way to grab 3 points, so let's do it! They aren't very strong!

I think lotina will think of introducing JR again as a R-Wing To stop Pedro Munitis

i didn't see any games for racing but this whata i think

also i would like to see riki instead of verdu

from maurcia's match verdu wasn't that very active
