Default La Liga | Almeria Vs Deportivo | 30.11.2008 | 17:00 | Pre-match comments

Important game in order to keep the track of Europe. But taking in mind that we play on Thursday in UEFA, God knows the lineup that Lotina might use

We only played once at Estadio de los Juegos Meditérraneos, it was on the last season and we lost 0-1 thanks to a late goal of Pulido.

Ah, the visit to one of the most boring stadiums in Spain.

A draw would be very good. I don't think we'll be that pressured, so it'll be hard to live solely on the counters. I do want Lopo back for this one however, cause we'll need the centimeters against Negredo.

I will be satisfied with a draw. I know Almeria is not that dangerous and we should think about 3 points but last seasons matches left big hole in my brain

Almeria, who had such a marvellous season last year, are somewhat less impressive this year.

When the month of September were over, they had won against Athlétic (1-3), Málaga (1-0) and Recreativo (1-0), taken a point at home against Valencia (2-2) and had lost at Valladollid (2-0). Ten points out of five matches.

Since then, they have struggled. At home they lost points against Sevilla (0-1) and Real Madrid (1-1) and achieved a narrow win against Mallorca (2-1). In away matches it remains a difficult story after defeats at Barcelona (5-0), Villarreal (2-1), Osasuna (3-1) and a 2-2 draw at Getafe.

Almería had a convincing 5-1 on aggregate Copa win against strong Segunda team Rayo Vallecano.

They’re now part of six teams who have between 14-16 points. Relegation is at six points while UEFA Cup football is closer at just three points. What is striking is that their strong defence of last year now already has leaked 20 goals.

All in all, the away results of Deportivo and the home results of Almeria point to a win for the Andalucians. But I would say that, based on Depor’s better form and good results against other teams from the Best of the Rest league, a positive result is doable.

wow 5 posts and the game is less that 48 hours away
The game is being showed on ESPN (Pac rim) again...this is 3 Depor games in a row...Don't think they've done this in last 5 or 6 years.

Hopefully we'll continue to be 'the best of the rest' this weekend

Called players: Antonio Tomás, Aranzubía, Cristian, De Guzman, Fabricio, Filipe, Guardado, Juan Rodríguez, Lafita, Lopo, Mista, Manuel Pablo, Omar Bravo, Adrián López, Riki, Ze Castro, Colotto, Valerón and Verdú.

* De Guzman and Riki are not both fit to play
* Sergio out for a small injury.

I will tell you the lineup later.

Lineup: http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/d....php?match=109

Not too sure about the squad, today Lotina didn't test any formation in particular, but you can imagine it taking in mind the changes and the lineup on Thursday. My doubt is if Riki is fit enough to start in the place of Mista.

I dont care who plays as striker as they are only there to be the 11th man and nothing more than that!
They dont score any goals anyway!
I hope they prove me wrong(the strikers).
Otherwise its a very solid squad!
I hope we get the three points!

Remember that Almeria inflicted two painful defeats upon as last year. On matchday 1 they crushed us at home (0-3) while the late 1-0 defeat in Almeria dropped us to five points from safety.
