Default LIGA| Real Madrid 1 - Deportivo 0 | 25-01-2009 | 21h00 |post-match

Goal: (40') Raúl.

Decent game, at least the team played well and had occasions no matter it leaked a goal at the end of the 1st half. A pity, a win would have put us in Europe. Anyway we still there.

I think Depor did what they had to do to get a point. Really, they could have even gotten three if things broke a little differently.
A boring match, though.

I'm very disappointed with the result. This time we deserved more, at least at second half. RM was very poor in the second half (except the last 3 minutes), especially the substitutes (Drenthe and Huntelaar) were invisible. We had some chances and we were dominating during the second half. Verdu...I don't know how Lotina is going to wake him up....

Dammit.. I'm not really disappointing, having no expectations, but this is damn frustrating!

Great defensive work over the whole line. Can't point out any big mistakes at all there. We had them all, except for Lass as I see it. Of course you can't stop Robben when we've gone all offensive. Decent surprises in Munua and De Guzman.

But offensively, it was really damned. Riki was awful IMO - or maybe my objectivity so as to see any good actions was ruined after all the frustration he gave me - and it's really sad that Bodipo got injured..

Valeron was good, and Lafita shined in the 2nd half several times. This was not a Verdú game, clearly, hopefully he's more useful in upcoming games like against Osasuna and Mallorca.

Now, it's just about looking forward. No way the team can be demoralized after this. I think we got an alright chance against Villarreal next Sunday.

We were equal to them, still some players mark the difference. I don't know if Munua would have been able to save that shot from Lafita.

Anw congrats to the boys and Lotina for the system

This game was good from Valeron's and Bobby's point of view as their performance was really good, so next time they should have reserved place in the 1st team. At least I hope so...

Anyway how the hell was Raul being able to head that ball? He has cca. 170-172 cm and he was surrounded by our tall defenders... Shame...

He got good position on Felipe. Lopo and Ze Castro were on Higuain and Ramos, so they were occupied. I wouldn't say that it was Felipe's fault, Raul just got into a good position. He's scored once or twice in his career...

I completely understand your feelings, but "congrats"... for fifth loss in a row?

sometimes i don't really know if you guys are kidding around, we had what 1 shot on goal? Valeron makes good passes from time to time, when he doesn't fall over.
Sorry to say de guzman has 0 value when going forward. Our lack of attack is even more horrible, riki is totally out of form, Mista who?
Only liked Ze Castro tonight to be honest.
I am just asking myself can we ever get to top 4 places again?

wasnt so bad
valeron played well, lotina and bodipo had glorious chances, maybe bodipo was a bit of a stretch. unlucky by lafita

i liked how we played. would like to see that lineup again.
too bad for bodipo, hope it wasnt too serious. our guys started to breakdown?

Only Ze Castro, Valeron and De Guzman escaped mediocrity tonight.

I'm now watching the game and it's the tenth minute of the second half. Saying we were equal to Madrid is up until the minute I'm watching, is a huge overstatement imo. We have no idea how to get through their defense, and even though Real isn't great either, they have been pretty dangerous several times.

We're just way too slow up front. There's hardly any movement and sometimes Valeron gives a good pass, but the guy on the receiving end finds it impossible to do something with it due to a lack of support. I hope this gets better when we start playing the weaker teams again, but against the big teams it's an obvious problem.

Edit: I like Filipe as well up until now And I agree with Dejan in the sense that De Guzman offers very little going forward. His defensive skills were great, but most of his passes are really poor. Ze Castro is playing pretty good imo, and Valeron still sometimes loses the ball unnecessarily, but he has made some really good passes today. He did much more good things than bad things today. Well, all what I say here is based on the first 65 minutes of the game
