Jan 13
Deportivo-Valencia 20:00
Racing Santander-Alcorcón 20:00

The key here is not to allow the early goal. If Valencia snare the early goal, then the match will become more open and release some of the scoring pressure off Valencia's shoulders. If we can get to HT with a 0-0 scoreline then I'm 90% confident that we'll be able to progress to the next round.

However, I personally will not be upset if we get knocked out of the Copa. As stated in an early thread, I believe we are good enough to qualify for Europe without needing to rely a Copa triumph.

It would nice to lift a trophy though!

The game with Osasuna brought four players with a knee injury: Pablo Alvarez, Sergio, Guardado and Antonio Tomas.

The Mexician is the most serious case and I doubt he will be fit for this game, the other 3 are doubtful.

Meh, we're ahead. I'd love to see Depor fill Valencia's net at the Riazor... But I'll be happy if we can keep the game 0-0 and move on through. Shame about all those knee injuries.

What's with the positions we're having injuries in?

The two wingers, three defensive midfielders and two strikers (or three? Mista is ready?). Instead we're left with a midfield consisting of a serious lack of pace. Very worried if we indeed are missing eight players.

Players for the game: Aranzubia, Manu, Laure, Manuel Pablo, Lopo, Adrián, Zé Castro, Rochela, Filipe, Antonio Tomás, Juca, Iván Pérez, Añón, Juan Rodríguez, Juan Domínguez, Valerón, Adrián López and Bodipo.

* David Añon and Rochela are the two Fabril's players in the list.
* Casulties for injury reasons: Angulo, Mista, Lassad, Guardado, Riki, Sergio and Pablo Álvarez; the last two for precaution reasons and should be fit to face Mallorca.
* Colotto is out as he is rested for Mallorca.
* Juca is returning.

I am not sure yet about the lineup, but it's clear that the defence will be:
Manu
Laure - Piscu - Ze Castro - Filipe

I'd like to see a lineup a bit like the one we played with against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu last year. Some solidarity in midfield with a trivote, with Dominguez/Perez and Valerón in front, which would mean being able to push up our side backs and also have some creativity. Also, Rochela is interesting.

Valencia are bringing a pretty much full strength squad to the Riazor. The only notable abscence is Mata.

Lista de convocados

Goalkeepers: César y Moyà

Defenders: Miguel, Navarro, Dealbert, Alexis, Maduro, Marchena y Mathieu.

Midfielders: Albelda, Éver, Baraja, Vicente, Fernandes, Domínguez, Joaquín y Jordi Alba.

Forwards: Silva, Villa y Zigic.

the forward line-up seeems interesting with two play makers ...but still I fear the four players are unaccustomed to each other especially with Bodepo at the top

also the Back Middle-fielders ... Jd is still inexperienced a bit , though he made good performance in previous matches ...and I feel Juca isn't 100% ready ... so Maybe we will witness a last minute change on the line-up with Bodipo and juca out and Adrian and A-tomas in

If he doesn't start at the beginning I doubt him starting after ....
