Espanyol was very weak in the Bernabeu. I think they have quality problems up-front (like us). They have Garcia, plus a "segunda" guy and that's all. Take a Revange!

I'll take a draw again. We do, however, have some creativity with Riki getting back in shape and Guardado returning. I'd certainly like to see Ivan Perez in the middle, Guardado on the left, and JR on the right. That should do it.

They aren't very impressive as of late, and the key is just to shut it and hit their fragile defense on the counter.

The key is to keep our defence tight. The good thing about the Malaga game was that we didn't concede a goal away from home.
I think we might just steal a win 0-1 or 1-2

They were missing Callejon who is one of their most exciting attacking players imo, so we'll probably see more in an attacking sense from them as he returns and they're at home. They were also missing Chica and Moises who are both set to return against us on Sunday.
However, it looks like Pareja could miss the game as he went off against Madrid with a knee problem.
I just hope we don't sit back too much and let them dictate play. They're not a bad team but they certainly aren't anything special either and we're capable of taking all the points if we give it a proper go.

I wouldnt risk Guardado for this game.
Possible alternatives:
Juanro could play on the right, with Juca taking his slot in central midfield.
If Riki is not fully fit: I.Perez or Chirri could play left midfield.
Finally, if Sergio is not fit - A.Tomas can take his place.

Riki will almost certainly start this one as he should definitely be fit for 90 mins already. Even if Guardado and Sergio return for this one, they will likely start off on the bench. Hopefully this game is a sign of things to come with our key players finally returning from injury. My lineup:

.........................Aranzubia
M.Pablo...........Colotto.......Lopo.............. Laure
.....................Juca......A Tomas
J Rodriguez...........Adrian........................ I Perez
............................Riki

Not big deal, but neither is to be worried as we have Juca and A Tomas.

I would give him an extra 2-3 weeks off, even 2-3 weeks of vacation at Hawai...
Better lose him for a month due to vacation, and get him 110% ready, than miss him for the rest of the season, due to an urgent return that might cause him a new injury, as it is usually the case with him.

When this season started, I thought Espanyol would be among the first 8 at this phase of the season. But they are 14th and without options for Europe. In fact, relegation is just 5 points away.

Their Cornellà stadium hasn’t brought much luck so far, with 5 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses and a goal average of -3 (11 – 14). This means they haven’t won half of their home games, and only have scored a goal per match. Anyway, their home results are far superior to their away results.

I hope that we can establish a better record in Cornellà than we had in Barcelona’s Olympic stadium: 3 wins, 3 draws, 6 losses. I was at two of those losses (07/08 and 02/03).

Just compare that record to the one of Sarrià since Deportivo were promoted in 1991: 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss, with Deportivo scoring six and Espanyol just one.

For this season, Espanyol signed defenders Pillud (loan), Roncaglia (loan), Forlín, midfielders Verdú, Nakamura and Marqués and attackers Ben Sahar and Osvaldo (loan).

Especially upfront, they have several quality players available, but the problem is that none of them has been exceeding an average level: Callejón, Luis Garcia, Ben Sahar, Osvaldo, Corominas, Raúl Tamudo, Ivan Alonso....

Especially at the back they look vulnerable, after the death of Jarque and the departures of Sergio Sánchez, Torrejón and Lacruz. Defenders like Chica, David Garcia, Pillud, Roncaglia, Pareja and Forlin now have to do it, backed up by Kameni.

In midfield they have potential with Nakamura, De la Peña and Verdú, but (as with their attackers) none of them has been exceeding.

All in all, we meet a troubled and unpredictable team, who need to get used to their new home ground. I’d be satisfied with a 0-0 draw, but I’d say our options to win this one are slightly larger than at Málaga.

This one could go either way, as both teams are fairly unpredictable. I hope we play alot better than we did at the Riazor earlier this season, when we had an absolute shocker and they beat us, scoring 3 times.

I also hope that we don't pick up any more injuries and snatch the 3 points. A decent performance would be nice but I'd accept a scrappy 1-0 win

I would also give Guardado another week to rest. He's been rushed back in the past, and has got injured a couple of times, so best not to risk it.

We should have Guardado, Mista and Sergio available next week, which is a boost for the squad.

Also fingers crossed Riki & Bodipo stay injury free for the rest of the season.
