Default LIGA 10/11 | Deportivo 0-1 Levante UD | 20-03-11 | Post Match Comments

Hugely dissapointing result with a result to match. We played some nice passes in non effective areas on a couple of occasions but never really looked like scoring in what I saw of the game.
The result means we are now just 2 points above the drop zone

I have to ask. What happens if we really do get relegated? How is this going to affect our debts if we don't manage to get back to Primera in one season?

I'm not pulling any punches - that was a disgraceful performance. Not entering into the Lotina-Players debate now. We can leave that until our fate is known because it doesn't do any good rehashing it now. At this rate we are doomed.

terrible match in 2 words....
now the future is very dark and complicated
the salvation is fleeing from our hands, the fight will be very severe and difficult
obviously lendoiro will change the the coach for the next season, I hope it will be a Primera season and not a Segunda one

Another worrying thought for me is that it's almost like we seem to be relying on how bad others are for us to stay up. There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of spirit, effort and determination coming from our players but they must realise what a dangerous position we are in. It's almost like they're so complacent that they just think at least 3 teams will be worse off than us at the end of the season.

this team is not really worth watching, I'm afraid we're facing relegation this season in a very serious way because of the teams we will play next rounds, it doesn't seem promising ...

I just dont understand why we have to be ultra defensive when playing at home, especially against Levante.. its ridiculous! If we were playing Barca, Madrid or Valencia, I would understand, but Levante..? we werent even good enough to draw with them, due to Lotina's negativity.

Juanro, A.Tomas, Ruben and Guardado in midfield, with Adrian and Lassad furthest up field. What is Juanro doing in there..? why didnt he start with Saul instead? Why did he replace Adrian with Sand? why did Juanro not come off instead? These basic formation/tactical errors could cost us our place in this league.

Lotina is stubborn & thick, I cant wait to see the back of him.. !

One more comment: We had 22,000 fans in the stadium today, which is a big crowd for us, and what did Lotina do for our fans.. ? he messed up big time.. !

I didnt see the game and Im happy Btw Lotina didnt understand futbol. He want to play not to lose the goal. But the most important is TO SCORE THE GOALS! So his teams play very ugly & boring futbol...

Lotina deserves the criticism he's getting in this topic.

That said, I always get a little irked by the fact that so many people seem to let the players off the hook. Even with an offensive scheme, we would've lost this thing playing with this attitude. Besides Guardado, nobody did anything. Lassad still hasn't learned from his mistakes. He tries to run past the defense, but always ends up either losing the ball on the way, or when he actually does get past the defender, much to his own surprise, he seems clueless as to who he could pass too, cause he wasn't paying attention to anyone else while he was running. It's like the keeps running straight into walls. He was good when he started to play for us a few years ago, but he hasn't evolved as a player at all since then. Adrian remains largely static on the pitch, and when he went into space, he walked into space. Of course he's never gonna reach a good position if he's too friggin' lazy to sprint for a few seconds. So many times during the game, when Levante players started to sprint, half of our players couldn't be bothered to step up their pace. You could seem them start to run a little faster, and then they just gave up when Levante's players were too far away.

And then some people even defend the players, saying they play this way because of Lotina's negativity. What a load of crap. The players deserve just as much of an ass-kicking as Lotina.

some players just aren't much better as how they played, Lassad on top. Surely in the position he had to play (Lotina on fault here)

i'm afraid we threw the permanence away today...
