it depends on what we need from the B team, playing in a stronger league like segunda B, maybe can attract more players that can join Deportivo in the future. with our financial poor situation we will depend more & more about our B squad & the transition from Tercera to primera is huge...

i would be happier if Depor B plays in Segunda B & hopefully Segunda in the future

i dont think this logic applies to the youth teams.. there are players who are good enough for higher divisions in our youth teams, it doesnt matter how they play as a team, as long as these talented players are being helped to show their potential on a more competent league..

But they would still take a spot from a group of players who've actually deserved to play in segundaB. And shown it on the field.

Personally I don't like this concept of buying a spot. What if a place in primera had come up last season, would it be all right if we'd just bought our way back instead of having to cope with a season in segunda?
And what if some tourist town in the south felt a good primera team could bring in more €€€, should they be allowed to buy a spot? Or maybe just another team to relocate? Deportivo de la Marbella...?

Promotions and relegations should ideally be won or lost on the field.

the club opts to sell the spot if they want as far as i understand.. they gets the very much wanted money to pay the salaries,etc.. so thereby we would actually be saving a club especially if you think how bad their financial conditions are nowadays..

Morten spoke out, what George did not dare I am more pragmatical, buy that position in Segunda B. who cares about moral, when Betis, Racing, Putagoza owes us a lot of money, and ATMA wins EL with 150M EUR tax-debts...

Thanks Hari and Carlos for the answer about the players, earlier.

If we buy the Segunda B spot with what squad are we playing with, surely not the team that was not good enough to progress from Tercera. If it the same squad, we will be spending money just to get relegated.

I would love to see Fabril in a higher division but not this way. Use the club and Abegondo to produce homegrown talent.

For sure

Anw, if at the end of the tournament we are going to buying or sell places, i'd rather know this at the start of the tournament to not wasting time during the season feeling the tension, the ups and downs etc...

Well, Miles, for a B squad, the present results don't count too much. IT is the experience, the learning phase, the continuous evaluation. For sure they can gain a lot more in Segunda B for their future, than in Tercera.

Anyway if they relegate, we just buy a spot once again.

I am sure the money to buy the spot would not come from Fabril's budget, but from under the RC Deportivo umbrella. With the first team promoted to Primera I would rather have the money spent on this area of the club however small it is.

I care about morals as I am a traditionalist where teams get promoted by what happens on the pitch. Hey, if we want to drag ourselves down there level why not buy a spot in Segunda.

42 big loses don't teach you too much, but from some you can learn. Segunda B would be perfect

Last rumours say that Jaime Sanchez (ex-player, won the Liga 99-00) could be the next coach of Fabril. He was coaching a youth team (Cadete B) this year.

I remember him as a player - defensive midfielder. He was part of the R.Madrid team that won the CL in 1998, and part of our squad who won la Liga in 2000 as Blue Nation quite rightly said.

Not sure about his coaching skills though. Saying that, at least he has played with big players at big clubs.

Vieytes being released is a big surpise for me. I guess injuries have halted his progress at Fabril level. We really need a good central defender to come through from Abegondo in the next 2 or 3 years, so fingers crossed for Pablo Insua.

The Club announced last week that Jose Luis Devesa would be the new coach of the Fabril.
Devesa has managed several of our youth teams over the last 11 years, in which time he has promoted his teams to a higher league on 4 ocassions if I am not mistaken.
I dont know much about him, but he says he wants to play an attractive style of football where both the players and the fans enjoy.
Lets hope his time with the Fabril is successful, all the best to him.
