Default Spain | Segunda Division | 2011/2012

With the calender coming out today for next seasons fixtures, it's about time we opened the new seasons thread.

I'm hoping we get a couple of easier games to begin with and to end with and the harder games on about Matchday 10-16

The LFP agreed yesterday to charge a fee for radio stations to broadcast live matches of First and Second, just as in Germany, England and Italy.

Looks like Ian Mackay will join Sabadell for the forthcoming season.

First result of the season:

Giron 1 - Elche 4

Elche confirms that it is one of the aspirants for the promotion.

No. Budget of 6 million Euros. Perhaps better organised than other clubs.

But the new ocach of Barca B, Eusebio, is a fool. He started with his best player, Deulofeu, on the bench.

Celta won today at Real Murcia 3-1

We still need 8 points to survive.

Valladolid and Elche, with a no-surprise, early lead in the table, with 6 points each, and impressive 5-0, 5-1 goals.
Surprise is the 6 points by Sabadell, after the away win at Villarreal B

You should watch the highlights of that game, Villarreal B really needs to work on its defense

Dear god, I hope we don't get the referee of Almeria - Girona this season. Almeria were robbed yesterday. With 2-0 on the score sheet, the ref awarded Girona a penalty after a great tackle on the ball by an Almeria defender, outside of the area

On another note, does anyone know why Elche has such a big stadium? Seems a little weird for a team that I can't remember having ever played in Primera. It seems to be almost completely empty as well, during games.

They were probably aiming higher than Valencia, when they built the stadium!
Miles, was there for a crucial game, last season, 3/4 of the stadium was empty.
