Default Segunda | Depor 2v1 Sabadell| Sep 17 | 18h00 (CET) | Post Match Comments

Another 3 points to keep things on track. Sabadell looked pretty dangerous in the 1st half and hit the bar as well as had a formidable Aranzubia to get in their way. They didnt totally dominate us or anything but looked the sharper team in front of goal as Lassad left his shooting boots at home today.

Valeron then got the opening goal after a cool composed finish and Guardado scored a great team goal as Laure took posession in our right corner and played the ball upofield to Vasquez, who then picked out a good run from Salomao with a well weighted pass and the Portuguese speed machine played a lovely ball across the box for Guardado to finish off.
We looked good after the goal/s came and I thought we were shading it tbh but we got caught out with a long ball down the middle again, which really looks like a weak point in our side, no matter who the centre backs are. At 2-1 there were a few nervy moments but it wasn't like we had to weather a terrible storm until the final whistle.

Laure and Ayoze both came into the game and played well, intercepting vital balls forward and then joining up with the attack. Guardado worked well and played a vital part in the victory and Valeron gave the ball away a couple of times but looks to be back to his normal self after an unusual off game a few weeks ago.

Lassad just wasn't at the races today and although Bodipo looked up for it when he replaced the Tunisian, I think he needs to learn the offside rule.

And then there was Dani. Made a couple of brilliant saves and some vital touches to make sure we held onto our victory.

Good victory and 3 points are all that matters :0

3 points are the most important thing. It wasn't our best game and definitely not something we would have expected when it comes to facing a team like Sabadell, but having in mind many casualities and the thing that no matter what - Sabadell was the leader coming to Riazor I believe it is a very good score that puts us among top teams of Segunda. Bring on Alcorcon!

Vamos!

I'm still trying to figure out why our defense looks so bad. Alex and J. Vazquez didn't have their best games today, sure, but they're not the ones to blame for Sabadell's chances. It seems like all an opponent has to do, is put an attacker in the middle of Colotto and Aythami, and then throw a long ball in their backs. It seems to work every single time. It's how they almost took the lead, it's how they scored, and it's how they almost equalised.

Anyway, the season is young so let's hope these things will gradually get better. But without a doubt, if it stays like this, it's going to cost us many points.

The good thing is that, including the Copa, we managed to win 4 out of our 5 first games, so that's pretty good. Especially considering that the teams we played in the league have all started the competition well. Also, we'll be playing Alcoyano next week, who started the league with 7 points out of a possible 12. And then we face Guadalajara, who could be the sole leader if they win tomorrow. So it seems we have some more tricky games coming up. Maybe we'll do better when we start playing the inferior sides.

Alcorcon was the one I meant though, they're the ones with 7 points. Alcoyano has only two points right now.

Three points but we need to improve; mainly in the second parts.

The most important thing today, with all the casualties we had, was to get the 3 points. And finally we got it.

The truth is that we didn't play well, we haven't generated many scoring chances, but against usual, today we were quite effective, and got ahead on the scoreboard 2-0.
Then we just try to control the game, letting time pass. In the second half Sabadell began to gradually dominate, and created several chances. They scored one, and being honest, probably deserved to get one or two more, but luckily for us, they found an impressive Aranzubía again. So in the end, we can say we were lucky today with this result.

Once more, impressive atmosphere at Riazor. I'd say around 28000-29000 today, as against Hercules.
And finally, another great thing to remember about today's match is the goal of Valeron. It was great, after so long, to see him scoring again.

http://www.goltelevision.com/resumenes-adelante

Here you can see all the highlights of the Liga Adelante. In the menu on the right you can choose the match you want.

Happy to see that we're on top of the table, tied with other teams, with 9 points. Only Guadalajara could surpass us tomorrow with 10 points.

It's also interesting to point out that Guardado has had a crucial role in the last six goals Depor scored. Hopefully he remains injury-free this season. It's a shame we'll be missing him now and then because of international games.

Seeing how important this guy has been for us so far this season, I'm incredibly happy we didn't sell him for 6 or 8 million. It seems like he could be the difference between playing in Primera or Segunda next season.

A very important 3 points for us, and no further additions to the injury list, which is great.
Guardado, Solomao and Valeron were very influencial.. and thats very important to have these 3 involved.
Aythami had another poor game, IMO Ze Castro should replace him for the next game. For next week, we should have Xisco returning, and Borja may be ready to play again.. so things are slowly beggining to pick up for us in that department.

I liked the look of the Sabadell striker Florian.. If he manages to score a few more goals between now and Christmas.. we should buy him.. !
